About Mrs. Pumpkin

The newest detail for our refreshment table to arrive are napkins from For Your Party. I first saw these napkins in a Martha Stewart Weddings magazine a couple of years ago and thought that they were so cute! The wedding that was featured in that issue is the inspiration for our wedding in many ways, so when I actually found the napkins on-line I just had to buy them!

The brown coloured napkins are a little more reddy-brown than I thought they would be, but I think that they will be a nice addition to our refreshment table on the island. The imprinting is very nice and I love the flower sprig! I wasn’t expecting to love something like our napkins so much! There are also cute matching coasters but since everyone will be standing and mingling or sitting down in the ceremony chairs, we didn’t get the coasters. For Your Party will also personalize ribbon, gift bags or boxes and match books, but I haven’t compared prices for those items with other online companies like Namemaker or Beaucoup.

What are the small details that you are loving about your wedding so far? Is there anything that you weren’t sure that you needed but now can’t imagine your wedding without?

Oh isn’t that just the story of my life, lol! I’m still right at the beginning of the planning process for my wedding, so I haven’t purchased/made any small details yet. But there are a bunch of things that I originally couldn’t have cared less about. However, now I keep seeing all these fancy things in wedding magazines and on blogs, and I am trying to tell myself I would have never cared if I’d never seen the photos! Things like save-the-dates, menus at the table settings, wedding ceremony programs, favours, lots of flower decorations, and coloured table linens. I will surely end up springing for some of these items that I didn’t originally care about but now just *can’t* live without, but I’ll have to talk myself out of some of them. I think we will go for more flowers and some event designers, but we’ll probably still skip favours and some of the stationery items.

My best advice to you Laura (especially about things you see on the internet or blogs) is to wait a week or two and see if that “thing” is still calling you. If you forget about it then you don’t need to have it! If a significant amount of time has gone by and you can’t stop thinking about it you will know it is something that you really want. And then, shop around! I made several rash purchases only to find the same item for less elsewhere. Good luck!

I’m loving the silver ball placecard holder from Beaucoup.com. I ordered a sample and it’s just divine, and will serve well as a guest favor because they can use it as a photo holder at home. It goes perfectly with our polka dot theme. And only $2 each! Yay!
