Mrs. Blueberry's Picture
Mrs. Blueberry, Kansas City Age and Occupation in 06: 21, Full-time Student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 23, Full-time Student Engagement Date: September 10, 2005 Wedding Date: May 25, 2007 Venue: Wynbrick Center - a historic mansion in my hometown. About Me: We're having an intimate, 125-ish person wedding with a full-blown dessert reception. About Mrs. Blueberry

Mr. Blueberry doesn’t ask for much. He just wants a fiance who can stop annoying him for at least two or three minutes of the day, an ample supply of clam chowder and Red Lobster biscuits, an occasional Cardinals game, and maybe some time to fool around with his PlayStation. Oh yeah, and a Star Wars cake topper on his groom’s cake. smiley5

So ever since he told me this, I’ve been diligently searching the Internet for the perfect one. He wants us to have Darth Vader and Padme atop the groom’s cake. Never mind that they don’t actually appear together in the movies (well, they are together after Palpatine has named Anakin as Darth Vader, but not once he’s gotten the infamous black getup). Also, we’re looking for a skinny Padme–not the pregnant one who is the standard action figure of Episode III:

I just don’t want a pregnant cake topper, y’know?

So then we remembered that we’ve seen a set of figures from the wedding scene in Episode II. Somewhere, out on the Internet. Sometime. But of course, now a search gives us *nothing*.

Even if we can’t find the figures from the wedding scene, something similar would be OK. I’m thinking no more than 6″ tall; a regular ol’ Darth Vader and a Padme who’s not pregnant. They need to be either just standing upright, or pose-able so they can be made that way. Oh yeah, and they need to be cheap.

Can you guys help me out? Pweeeeease?

PS. 15 geek points to you if you caught the joke in the title smiley5

Check Ebay for figurines and ask the sellers for their help. Esp ones whom are Star Wars specific. They may know the “memoribilia” - sorry couldn’t think of another word - better than the you.
You could also search for Star Wars fan sites and post to their board.
Good Luck!

ahaha That’s really funny! Love the title! Aren’t we a geeky bunch.

You can put a long skirt on padme and that would cover her belly.

Hasbro makes a set called “Secret Ceremony”. It’s Anakin and Padme.
See for example:

Try searching from there. I’ll load up R2 and take him with me to look around, too.

(She’s a supa geek, supa geek - she’s supa geeky!)

Have you checked out Toy Wiz? They have lots of older figures, and even if they’re out of stock, you then know what to Google or search for on eBay. I just looked and saw a couple of Padme figures.

And I know where you’re coming from, we’re having a little Superman and Wonder Woman (complete with veil) on our cake table. Not on the groom’s cake, that’s going to be football-themed.

Try ebay. I gave my boyfriend a Padme Christmas ornament (she’s wearing the white outfit and she’s all torn up - after the fight with the huge *beasts* where’s she’s tied to pillars with Obi Wan and Anakin… not sure which episode) - it was originally from Hallmark, and I’m sure you could find it on Ebay.
Good luck!

Amy's Guide to All Things Bride

My brother is a TOTAL star wars geek — at his wedding, his now-wife did a jawa cake, and then rather than a “topper” she just put a ton of his favorite (non-collectible) starwars characters on and around the cake. it was really funny. You could do something similar w/ out stressing about finding a B&G topper…..

My fiance is a total star wars dork and has also requested a Star Wars cake topper. He has a huge collection of Star Wars figurines so we have plenty to choose from. I think we’re going with Han Solo and Princess Leia.
I’m not sure which figures he wants to use but I’ll let him read your blog and see if he has any suggestions.

Ok, I definitely get the geek points - my dad is a collector of all things Star Wars (though he would say the old ones are better…)

Anyway, there is a figure that says “Queen Amidala” but is in Padme getup- long maroon dress/coat thing (battle costume, I think). Very not pregnant looking. I didn’t look much, but found it on http://starshow.wildescape.com/e1cat.htm#swfig. Go to Action figues and it’s the second row, middle one - 1999 Queen Amidala. I’m sure you can find it somewhere. Good luck!
