About Mrs. Strawberry

Princess Strawberry

April 13th, 2007 @ 5:15 pm by Mrs. Strawberry

My parents’ nickname for me is Princess. Don’t be confused–it’s not a term of endearment. It says more of my pushy broad, inner Veruca Salt, more than anything else. So while I may act like a princess, I don’t want to look like one on my wedding day. And to me, nothing says princess more than a tiara. Suffice it to say, I will not be wearing one. What I do long for however, is a headband. The last few covers of InStyle magazine have had models sporting them. I would like to purchase one, however, that does not require me to leave my first born as collateral. Is that too much to ask? :)

no worries - i understood what you meant! headbands are definitely in, so let us know if you find anything that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. :)

too bad you’re not down here! the erica koesler outlet had so many cute headbands when i was there a few weeks back. they were *very* reasonable compared to the prices for her stuff in boutiques and salons.

sorry, no other helpful suggestions. :(

here are a couple plain metal ones, perhaps you can use it as a base for another DIY project?

I bought a headband with two rows from whiteaisle.com and I think it was under $30. Good luck!

I bought myself a very similiar one at Nordstrom, I think it ran me around 50 bucks but returned it cuz it didn’t give off the same effect as the photo mags.

In the moviei Gladiator, I think Caesar’s daughter Lucilla (played by Connie Nielsen) in Gladiator was wearing one — very pretty with the right dress/hair.

Ha! My mom and sister call me Princess but usually when it is they that are wanting something or being needy. (They tell my dad ” the princess would not like that hotel etc”)

My parents used to call me princess. When I was about 4 years old we were at a restaurant, and an older couple asked me what my name was. I told them it was Princess Laura. I am still made fun of for that to this day.
