The Bridal Bouquet

April 13th, 2007 @ 3:40 pm by Mrs. Raspberry

My mom and sister have been in DC this past week and we’ve had many exciting happenings, (hence the lack of posts from me). I’ve been very busy with work… if you’re curious, click here. But I have plenty of developments to share, starting with my bouquet…

We have finally nailed down exactly what we would like with the florist. It’s going to be fairly similar to this bouquet, but with sweet peas instead of the stars of Bethlehem.

The real love was the cabbage/English/garden roses that open so full like those in the picture and below. For all the brides who want peonies, but can’t have them because of when the wedding is, these are a good alternative. (This was mentioned in the blog roundup a few days ago, too.)

What do you think? Do the cabbage roses do a good job as faux-peonies?

I love cabbage roses! I’m using some in my bouquet in August, as peonies will be out of season.

I’ve been working on flower ideas all day today and I referred back to that same post. I’ve been all over the internet and cabbage roses appear to be replacing peonies for me. Just one problem, I can’t find pictures showing me my color options. Have you found any?

Oh wait, do you own/work for Haute Papier? I received that DailyCandy email the other day and thought how much fun that would be to do with my bridesmaids, if I could only get them all to fly into D.C. for the same weekend! I certainly didn’t associate it with a Bee.
(And really, if I ever can get all my bridesmaids to come down here at the same time, I would do a PapierParty)
