Mrs. Kiwi, Los Angeles Age and Occupation in 06: 27, Bookkeeper Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, P.E. Teach/Coach @ private schools in LA Engagement Date: March 31, 2006 Wedding Date: November 3, 2007 Venue: Radisson Hotel About Me: I'm a bookkeeper who failed high school algebra. I'm currently living in Los Angeles, literally a street over from where I grew up with Mr. Kiwi, my honey of three years. We have a jumbo mini-dachshund (seriously, he's huuuuge), and we're planning an autumn themed wedding on a shoestring, paid for by ourselves. The wedding date is my late grandma's birthday, I needed her there somehow, and that seemed like the best way for us. I can't believe I'm a Bee! I couldn't be more proud!

I Pity The Fool

April 16th, 2007 @ 5:24 pm by Mrs. Kiwi

Well, I spent this past weekend at the Southern California Renaissance Faire. While I’m not a big fan of dressing up in heavy brocade dresses and dark velvet cloaks (those things are freakin’ HOT to wear), I usually go to pick up some cool crafts and eat some good food.

Looks like this year was no different- in fact, I’ve picked up more “things” this year than I have in any year before. Things I bought (I was super tired last night, so pictures will be taken today) include a bevy of Fall-related items. I think I have a problem. As I speak, I have: four different wedding day necklaces, two bracelets, one tiara, five different pairs of earrings (and only two sets of holes!) and two rings. What the heck. blush02

I have blogged about my problems with matching my necklace to my tiara, and that has prompted me to buy just a few more. Okay… three more. I own one silver leaf- a real birch leaf dried and dipped in silver. I have my original necklace, a pearl acorn and oak leafs on a patinaed chain. And my two new ones: one is a flat acorn with a yellow gold cap and a sterling silver bottom that hangs on a silver box chain. My other one is a yellow gold pendant, a tree shape inside an oval frame.

Now, unless I want to be Mr. T on my wedding day…

I really need to stop buying jewelry. I’m pretty sure I’m going to go with my new acorn necklace, but I’ll do a trial run soon. I kinda hope the wedding comes soon, because unless we change our theme to “fall pimps and hos.” I MUST stay away from all things “autumn”- because as Miss Bluebell asked me, “Is your whole LIFE fall-themed now?”

Who else is buying up any and all things related to their theme? I have a feeling I may be sick of leaves by the middle of November. silly07

ROTFLOL!!! I totally have a mental image of you with dozens of acorn necklaces, barely able to walk down the aisle…and maybe with a mohawk. ;)

I definitely feel your pain, however. Except my wedding/life obsession is birds…and eggs…and nests…and trees… Which is ridiculous because I swore that I didn’t want a “theme” wedding. But OCD does run in my family. If only mine would manifest itself in maintaining a cleaner house, instead of the need to accumulate bird-related merchandise!

It is kind of funny. I just wanted to say that I am a huge Michael Michaud fan too (your original necklace). I am hoping I get the Sage necklace from my fiancee for a wedding present.
