There has been some interest in the personalized stamps that I used on my invitations, so here is a bit of information for those brides who are thinking about this little extra.
I live in Canada so the stamps that I ordered were through Canada Post’s Picture Postage program. It was very easy to do. You just go to their website, upload the photo you want to use, choose the border and then order however many stamps you want. They do take a couple of weeks to get to you so order early, and they do cost extra (almost double). But I just couldn’t bear the thought of putting a stamp with the parliament building on it on my wedding invitations.
I think that most people use a photo of themselves but we used a portion of the flower sprig from our Save The Dates to keep our theme intact. I have seen a couple of people use pictures from their weddings on these stamps when they mail out their thank you cards, which is also a very nice detail.
There is a company in the States called Stamps.com that will make personalized stamps for you. You can either upload your own photo or choose from one of their pre-made collections. Unfortunately they don’t have a premade wedding collection, but they do have an Anne Geddes one that has some cute options or you can choose from NFL teams, Nascar or several U.S. Colleges.
Is this something that you will consider doing? I am really pleased with our decision to do it - I love the way that our colours and theme all work together on the envelope, address label and postage stamp, but it was an expensive extra!
