Dilemma

April 17th, 2007 @ 3:04 pm by Mrs. Ladybug

Wedding season is officially here. We’re actually scheduled for two weddings on the 28th and could only pick one. Sorry Sandy, but you know I love you. So here’s my dilemma. I want to buying the new dressy! I bought a new pair of shoes last week and they’re hot! I love them. I actually sit on the edge of my bed in my pj’s and put them damn heels on and just admire them for like one minute before I go to sleep. Weird? Yes.

I found a dress to go with them but I’m not sure if it’s ok to wear to the wedding. What do you think? Keep searching? As you can see, my concern is the color:

the color’s fine. It’s khaki-ish, right? and the brown trim makes it so that you won’t commit the “white to a wedding” faux pas.

It’s a very bridesmaidy dress, though, so maybe you might want to wear a shawl? Esp if it’s in the evening.

I’d say keep searching to be on the safe side. You never know how the bride will feel, brown trim or not.

If someone had worn this to your wedding would you have been bothered? Probably not. Just check to make sure the wedding colors aren’t brown and khaki!

Probably OK, though I’d add a brown shawl or cute cardigan to it.

Cream and brown is ok. Maybe leave your veil at home.

I don’t see a problem with it. Its a very cute dress for spring. I agree with one of the posters above: if brown & cream aren’t their wedding colors then definitely go for it!

PS. I’d prob do the same things with my shoes too if I found an awesome pair.

nonono! keep looking - would you want a guest showing up in that dress at your wedding? i wouldn’t. it’s not like there are a shortage of dresses out there…

i say go for it. although I once did (wearing a white and gold short strapless number which i thought was totally un-bridal) and got a few comments. you should think about whether the bride would mind. personally, if it was my wedding, i definitely would be ok with someone showing up in that dress. just do it. unless you have a suspicion that your friend is particularly sensitive about this stuff.

Well, I sure don’t think it could be mistaken for a wedding dress! I think it would be ok to wear but I’d also pair it with a brown or coloured shawl or cardigan to be safe.

That’s hot!
Where is it from?
Its short, and does not look like a bridal gown or a bridesmaid dress–go for it.

Love the dress, but I’d say no to wearing it to a wedding. But get it anyway!!

If you know the bride well enough, ask her! My guess is she’ll say - no prob, but better to ask than not…

No go. There are so many other options out there and you really don’t want to keep a brown cardigan on all night. Too much white.

it doesn’t look bridal at all to me. wear it! cute! =) especially since it’s so hard to find a dress to match with your shoes.

i love the dress. i’m still going to buy it but i won’t wear it. but in response to k’s comment i really wouldn’t mind if someone wore white to my wedding unless it was someone i didn’t know, maybe someone’s date? my aunt wore white. didn’t bother me. bothered one of my bridesmaids’ though. hahaha

just the fact that people are telling me to ask the bride if it’s ok makes it not ok with me.

thanks for your help ladies. i love you bitches. hahaha
