Flower Girl Dresses!

April 17th, 2007 @ 4:23 pm by Mrs. Pumpkin

My little flower girls finally got to try on their dresses at Easter and they were so cute! I can’t wait for them to come waddling down the aisle in these fluffy white dresses. They were so pleased with themselves!

We bought the dresses on eBay and I think they are lovely! They were brand new, the fabric and sashes are beautiful, and I love the buttons. The only thing that I wasn’t a fan of was the flower on the front (it’s quite cheap looking). But I knew that before I ordered the dress, so I made sure it was removable. We are also going to change the sash from white to pink and I think the girls will wear tiaras instead the headpiece seen in the pictures. Here are some pictures from the eBay site of the dress we ordered:

The eBay store has a lot of cute dresses to choose from, in many different styles and colours. Also, I found the price to be extremely reasonable, even with the shipping to Canada! We only paid $24.98 USD for each dress and we got a shipping discount for buying multiple items. Man, do I love eBay!

Here are some pictures of the little girls in their dresses:

One girl’s has the flower petals in the skirt and the other’s doesn’t (or at least we took *most* of them out). I’m not sure which I like better; originally I thought we would take all the petals out, but they make the skirt much more full and fluffy so now I’m torn. What do you think?

My flower girl dresses look just like that with a red bodice, sash, and petals. I also took the flower off the front of mine; I agree that it doesn’t look very good. We left the petals in and I love the way it looks, but the petals are also the reason I fell in love with the dresses. Maybe you could replace the white petals with pink petals to add a little color.

I love the petals - in white! They’re subtle, blend in, and make the dress puffy!

I like the petals in a matching color to your wedding. When my FSIL got married last summer, one of our little cousins wore a dress like that and they had put pink petals in to match the colors even though she was too young to actually be in the wedding. Still cute, and works especially if you are trying to figure out how to tie them in to the big girls.

Petals add something that sets it apart from the 99 other manufacturers of that same basic dress. Cute touch. Do the girls love the petals?

oohhh…so cute! i vote for keeping the petals. i just might have to buy the same dress for my flower girls and do the same (change sash color). will it be hard to change the sash? pls let me know how that goes or if its complicated b/c of the ways it is attached. thanks, miss pumpkin! :)
