My mommy, making sure I don’t end up with too much make-up. I wanted a natural look.

On to the Korean hair salon: Hair Gallery. We’ve been going to this woman for years… It was crazy that day:
The woman who did my hair had specialized in formal up-dos for over 30 years in Korea! Nevertheless, not having had a hair trial, I was a bit nervous, if you can tell by this photograph:
But I LOVED my hair in the end! (minus the red clip of course!)
Super woman of the day award goes to: my MOH. She did 5 people’s makeup including hers and had time to touch mine up as well!

Make-up: Van Michaels Salon in Duluth (Aveda), makeup artist- PJ: A I would have given her an A+ but she forgot to put mascara on me! (My MOH to the rescue) Other than that, I loved the natural look! Not too heavy and not too light as to look too casual. Cost: $45
Hair: Hair Gallery. A+ I could not have asked for anything more! I even forgot to bring pictures of what I wanted, but somehow she knew how to create the look I was going for! Cost: $50

Since you mentioned Aveda, this is for the New Yorkers — I’ve had great success w/ the Aveda Institue (beauty school) in NYC for haircuts and highlighting. It’s really reasonable (esp for NYC) and although services are performed by students (not yet licensed), everything is supervised by their teachers (Aveda experts) so they can’t go too wrong, and they watch closely and come touch up or redirect as needed. The students are meticulous because they are being evaluated on everything. Sometimes it’s a long appointment but I’ve had excellent results.
I love the way your updo looks from the side. I hope you have a picture of the back. I haven’t had luck with finding a low chignon but your style my be it!
