No. I've gilded the heads of pins to make sure they looked properly antique. Gilded them. Then coated them in german glass glitter. I am that crazy.

About Mrs. Caterpillar

Hi

April 17th, 2007 @ 8:29 am by Mrs. Caterpillar

So it’s been forever and a billion years since I last posted. What have I been doing, you ask? Mostly making binders, and clawing my way to being Typo Queen. Seriously, every email I write lately contains at least one really obvious typo. I especially enjoy adding the extra definite article. See, e.g., an email I sent out tonight: “The BestBuy should pay the fee.” I have become Balki Bartokomous. But really, what I wanted you to see was this:

Flowers from Utowa. I had been meaning to post about them for a while, but . . . binders . . . definite articles . . . . In any case, now you have the name of my favorite high concept floral-fashion-cosmetic-design-ur-emporium this side of the lower level of the Takashimaya in Shinjuku. Yesterday I bought a bouquet of dark orange poppies, shaded orange roses, and white rununculus there. I think they’re the only store on earth that sells poppies.

The pictures don’t actually do the arrangements justice. You have to see them for yourself, surrounded in their glorious uber-white 2001 Space Odyssey environment. Also, stick around to explore the spiky clothes of the future. Equally important, the staff is really nice. Especially the florists. They go out of their way to help you, even when you’re obviously diffcult — like me.

Good to see you, Mrs. Caterpillar! I love poppies, and those are beautiful arrangements. And they’re not far from me–how expensive are they, however? ;)
