Reader Marni sent us a link to Take My Dress - a site former bride Elisa created to give away her unworn wedding dress. What happened was the store where she purchased her dress was closing down with the wedding less than two months away, and the shop soon stopped returning her calls. So Elisa frantically sought a dress off the rack and was able to find a back-up. Three days before the wedding, her original dress arrived at her doorstep.

Elisa married last October, but her original wedding dress is still sitting in a taped-up cardboard box. She hasn’t opened it because she’s mad at it. But she realized what she wants is a happy ending to come from all her wedding dress woes. So she’s holding a contest asking brides to submit their Tales of Woe in 500 words or less by May 28, 2007. Her favorite entries and the winning entry will be posted on her site. The only thing she asks is that you send her a picture of you in the dress at your wedding.
