Yeah, so I am slow on the vendor wrap-ups– blame it on laziness, a gut renovation of our apartment, my hellish knee surgery, no matter, I’m still slower than i ought to be…
But here are my thoughts on my florist, DeJuan Stroud: A+++
my bouquet (detail):

Immediately upon meeting DeJuan (to whom we were referred by our planner at the Wedding Library), my mom and I loved him. He was warm, charming and, moreover, his portfolio blew us away. He was the first florist we met, but the very best fit. (And, to blatantly name drop un peu, the fact that he did Emma Bloomberg’s wedding* didn’t hurt my opinion of him).
Our budget for flowers wasn’t small (to leave it vague, since my mom might murder me otherwise), but DeJuan was able to give us our money’s worth, and more. All the centerpieces were drop-dead gorgeous and, thrillingly, DeJuan was able to get peonies (all the way from New Zealand**) for our November wedding. One friend told me that she kept touching the flowers to verify that they were real–that’s how perfect they looked!!
DeJuan even showed up himself to pin the boutonnieres on my fella and his groomsmen. Another great thing about DeJuan was how easily he was able to adjust when, at our sample centerpiece meeting, he completely changed around the centerpiece right there before us. (He had created exactly what I had chosen and we had talked about originally, but by the time the sample meeting rolled around my vision had changed a fair amount–as I described my *new* idea, he created it on the spot and better than I even imagined). DeJuan was always personally reachable and just a pleasure every step of the way. (He did my shower–stunningly–too.) But a picture’s worth a whole bunch of words, no?
my bridesmaids/MOHs bouquets (details):

ceremony flowers (note the many votive candles hanging in the fireplace on invisible wire–DeJuan’s brilliant idea!!)– for some reason I can’t get this to upload without the color washing out. Hmmm… anyone know how to stop that?:

placecard arrangement (same color issue here–it appears way more vibrant on my PC):

centerpieces (1/2 of the tables had an arrangement in three vessels and 1/2 had the one pictured here):

more ceremony flowers & the bouquets in action:

cocktail hour flowers (in julep cups):

~~~
* love, love *love* her bouquet.
** apparently, there’s a small, two-week window in November, which varies slightly each year, during which you can get peonies from that other hemisphere. Hallelujah!!
