Invitations Update

April 20th, 2007 @ 3:16 pm by Mrs. Pumpkin

I made it through. I have written my last law school exam! This is a very exciting time for me, but what I am most happy about is that I will be able to get my invitations sent out this weekend!

I took your advice and asked my invitation designer to fix the reply card situation and, to her credit, she did fix it- and fast! I didn’t even have to play the “did I mention that I am a *law* student” card as Iris had suggested! ;) Our designer made up new (larger) reply card envelopes and couriered them to me within two days. Since I had done quite a bit of work on the invites already (putting them all together and writing the ferry board times on each one), I only have to put stamps on each reply card, write in the number of guests invited (to hopefully ward off extra “tag-a-longs”), put each reply card in its pocketfold and seal the outer envelope. Oh, I also found some pretty “regular” stamps, so that I can put those on the reply card envelopes. Then I’ll have enough personalized stamps to put on the outsides of the invitations.

I feel much better about the whole situation and, even though they were done a little later than I wanted, the invites will still be sent out around 2 months before the wedding. And, since we sent out STDs, that should be plenty of time for our guests to properly plan and reply. Thanks for all of your support!

Yay for regular stamps in Your Colors! We also used regular stamps on the response envelopes and “wedding” ones on the invitation.

A few days ago we received a formal invitation (not to a wedding, but that would’ve been cool, too) using the DC Comics Superheroes stamps. I thought they were fabulous.

Yay! i’m stumped on my rsvp’s. i want to prevent “tag-a-longs” too…so i thought about filling in the # of guests for those who will probably commit the crime. i’m inviting some that work for my family whom i’ve also known for many years…i don’t really know their gf’s. and i sorta wanted to keep the table of just the employees…most are single except for 2. so..i don’t want the singles to start bringing “somebody” just b/c the other 2 are bringing a guest….yada yada. is that mean for me to invite only that one guest and not their gf of 6months?

A Happy Ending! See, sometimes vendors really do want to do the right thing. Anyway, it would be much more persuasive to tell her you are the famous and influential Miss Pumpkin, ha ha.
