My Wedding Dress Is On Its Way!

April 23rd, 2007 @ 11:14 am by Mrs. Pumpkin

I just heard from the store in Edmonton where I bought my dress - it has arrived and that they have since sent it on to me! I am so relieved that it is here and much earlier than I thought! As I mentioned in my earlier post I ordered it exactly 6 months minus 1 day from my wedding day, so I was totally prepared to be freaking out 2 weeks before the day because my dress wasn’t here yet. Now I don’t have to! I don’t have any pictures of it because they wouldn’t let me take any while I was trying it on, but I have this picture that I stole from a Weddingbelles profile so here is a sneak peak!

I love the dress. Do you know the brand, etc? Also, are the stripes made from two different materials. Sigh, it is exactly what I was looking for but I think I have settled with my dress too.

Very Pretty!

My dress came in last week too! And I went last Saturday to try her on… unfortunately I had to leave her– they won’t let me take her home until all the alterations are done!

That is one of the very first dresses I tried on!! It wasn’t right for my body type, but it’s so uniqe and fun, while still maintaining an elegance with the satin stripes–you can do some really interesting bustles with it. I bet it will be perfect for you!! Congrats!

WAit, they would not let you take a picture when trying it on? That sounds crazy to me. I dont get it. Although you did say they were not very nice.

So pretty. My dress came in about a month early. And I was thrilled. and even more thrilled once I tried it on!

Love the tailored stripes. Very classic and flattering. A variation of this dress could have been worn in virtually any era.

hey neat, I was shopping at Ethos in WEM a few days ago. Didn’t have a great experience either. Although, I came back to Calgary and went to an ethos there, and no one batted an eye at the random flashes of light behind my dressing room curtain. And there weren’t signs anywhere saying I couldn’t take pictures.

It’s awfully frustrating for me to try to shop because all of my family is in Halifax, so I’m doing it on my own more or less (although I had two guests from back home in the past few weeks, so we did the whole dress shopping thing) The ‘mother in halifax’ card works pretty well for getting sales people to plot with me to sneak pictures though :)
