RE: Wedding gown trends–I was hoping the Disney gowns would be much cheesier…tehya re just all today’s trends, I think. I thought the Cinderelli dresses would be poufy monstrosities! ;-)

Dang, I have to say I’m impressed with the amount of non-disney cheese as well! Some of the gowns actually look great on the web site, it’ll be interesting to see how well they are recieved in the wedding community!

As much as miss manners says you shouldn’t include the website, I say if you’re including travel and accommodation cards in the invite, than a small card that says “For travel and accommodation information, please visit our website at http://www….” Her suggestion to email everyone that information makes it very hard - I don’t have great aunt sally’s email address (nor does she have one), but she’ll go online with her daughter. Or I don’t know my father’s coworkers email addresses and it was pain enough to get regular mailing addresses!

thistleorchid — Agreed!

Something I’ve seen done effectively is a small card insert (business card size works) stating the website and password.

OMG! Did anyone else notice Eva Longoria’s stylish save-the-date in the People article. The STD was created by Lehr & Black. Go to their website and checkout all the celebrity wedding invites from Nick & Jessica to the Bennifer invite.

Oh, Miss Manners can stuff it! Let’s be practical…if people can find all the info they need in one place and it saves the couple a boatload in printing costs to not have to print a separate card for all that info, then why not use a wedding website!?

I bucked tradition and had NO inserts, no response card, just a line printed on the invite that says “RSVP at ourweddingwebsite.com by May 6″. People have gone nuts over this! Not only is it now 2 weeks out from the RSVP deadline and I have over 80% of my RSVPs, but everyone have been saying how much they love the site and how helpful and fun it is. Whatever, I guess Miss Manners doesn’t go to any FUN weddings, just stuffy, boring ones where everyone follows the rules!

In the same vein, could you imagine having her as your guest?! Yikes!
