Teach/Coach @ private schools in LA Engagement Date: March 31, 2006 Wedding Date: November 3, 2007 Venue: Radisson Hotel About Me: I'm a bookkeeper who failed high school algebra. I'm currently living in Los Angeles, literally a street over from where I grew up with Mr. Kiwi, my honey of three years. We have a jumbo mini-dachshund (seriously, he's huuuuge), and we're planning an autumn themed wedding on a shoestring, paid for by ourselves. The wedding date is my late grandma's birthday, I needed her there somehow, and that seemed like the best way for us. I can't believe I'm a Bee! I couldn't be more proud!
About Mrs. Kiwi

Ann Wood Handmade

For those of you taking the bird theme to heart, Ann Wood Handmade creates handmade love bird cake toppers.

Although they are a little pricey (the above Lilly and Purcell is $240.00), each one is individually made of vintage fabrics and materials. Lilly’s dress is made of a vintage wedding gown that has become too fragile to wear, the fabric living on in your wedding topper!

Other varieties:

Pumpkin and Sebastian ($400.00)
z857464

Same Sex female Couple, Honey and Joy ($400.00):

Same sex males, Sweethearts ($375.00)

I really love all detail that goes into each one. The base of “Sweethearts” is simple yet lovely. Ann Wood has a minimalistic site full of fun and interesting birds. Ann also has a blog- very entertaining! More varieties are being added all the time, so keep your eyes peeled!

beautiful! thanks for sharing! I can’t imagine spending that, but I certainly appreciate the opportunity to admire, and like wsukarebear, I’m pondering the DIY possibilities.

So really, how can you DIY? I have been looking for the perfect topper (even sent these to my FI) and just cannot imagine spending that much on them!

i think we should find 24 brides who want this cake topper (I’m #1) and chip in $10 each, then pass it around! I almost wish I hadn’t seen this, because I’ll never find anything that can compare to how cute these are. Boo-hoo.

Eeeeee! Those are so cute!! I’m totally going to make something like this for my wedding cake. I forget who posted about the patch nyc cake toppers, but between those and these I have so many ideas!! I’ll send a picture and post some DIY tips for it if I actually end up making one…

My wedding’s not til november though, so it’ll probably be a while til I get to it.

They are very cute….but super expensive. I actually contacted her about making some for my wedding, and she agreed and said I could send some of my fabric to match my dress, then after I ordered the fabric and paid for it, she changed her mind and said she was no longer doing custom orders. Then I asked her if we could work on this order, since I have 11 months till my wedding, and she said no. For someone who charges that much money for two little fabric made birds, you’d think she would be a little more professional. Now I have fabric I don’t need, I am out that money, and have to come up with a new idea for my cake topper. i would definitely try to make these at home.
