Groomsmen Gifts: Part Deux

April 24th, 2007 @ 3:36 pm by Mrs. Strawberry

Here’s an awesome and affordable groomsmen gift that the guys will be sure to appreciate:

dram

The Reef Dram sandal with built-in flask retails for $45. The canteen is located in the heel with a screw cap that opens with an included church key.

FANBLK

They also have sandals with a built in bottle cap and for the golf enthusiasts, and a sandal with a ball marker and tee.

ok, i just did a spit-take while reading about the flask sandal. i am at once intrigued and grossed out at the prospect of drinking something that came out of a shoe. (and a man’s shoe no less–ew!)

good find, Miss Strawberry!

LOL. I had the same reaction as Mrs. Daisy about that flask sandal. Those are some crazy innovative sandal ideas!

That’s funny…I thought it’d be great for sneaking alcohol into concerts and stuff. ;-) Shows you where MY mind is! Maybe it is gross for alcohol to “come from a sandal!?!?!”

Haha, my FI has the bottle opener ones…we didn’t even realize that they had the openers until after he’d bought them.

He’s not even a big beer drinker. Now we just think it’s funny to offer to open people’s drinks with his shoe.

I will not let him open any of my drinks with a shoe, and I don’t think I would ever let anyone pour me anything out of a shoe…but I know people who would! :)

Reminds me of Maxwell Smart’s shoe phone from the show “Get Smart”!

Like Mrs. Daisy, I am both intrigued and grossed out . . .
Does this belong in the “wacky invention” category? Like the practicality of the bottle opener, though.

Love these ideas, though! I’m all for inventive-ness. Thanks for sharing!

I remember coming across the bottle opener sandal a year or two ago and thinking it was gross for sanitary reasons. The flask one doesn’t make me question the sanitation as much, but it does make me think “mmm… warm scotch…yick!”

Actually, come to think of it, with the way conventional flasks are designed to be stored close to the body, don’t the contents of those get warmed even without the heat generated from the motion of walking in those sandals??

I was just asking my sister and other women around me for creative groomsmen gift ideas…..This takes the cake. My sister’s idea was a coffee mug and coffee from Costa Rica (where the wedding will be). . . um- LAME in comparison. Haha!

my bf sent me a link to those…and then proceeded to tell me why those things are stupid. lol.

but the flask sandal is a lot better than the group of guys that snuck in alcohol into the big house with ziploc baggies wrapped around their ankles! i politely declined their offer for “drinks”

I love the bottle cap ones… not sure about the flask but it’s definitely helpful when no one has a bottle cap

for sanitary reasons, i think i would prefer a bottle that was opened with a belt than one opened with a shoe.. LoL

Ha, hilarious and yet disgusting and naughty at the same time. I know a certain guy who would love this! Right, Miss Popcorn — How warm would that liquor be….?

It’s one surefire way to sneak in liquor AND get credit for sharing without actually ever HAVING to share it!

– (removing sweaty, smelly flipflop): “Ya want some?”

– (almost any human being) “Uh, no thanks, I’m good.”)
