Get Me To The Church on Time

April 25th, 2007 @ 3:26 pm by Mrs. Plumeria

Ever since I was little, I’ve thought that the church Mr. Plumeria and I are getting married in was beautiful. While we attend another non-denominational church in the Bay Area, several people we’ve known have gotten married at this one, and it’s absolutely gorgeous. Some of our dear family friends and neighbors, whose son is our ring bearer, got married here once upon a time, and they are thrilled that we’ve chosen the same place. The lighting inside is bright and perfect for photos, and the atmosphere inside is pretty much what I’ve always dreamed of. When we got engaged and started searching for venues, we took a trip to visit this church, among several others all around the Bay. I remember bringing Mr. Plumeria inside and thinking, “Pleaselikeitpleaselikeitpleaselikeitpleaselikeit…” Luckily, he did, and so here’s where we’re getting married in just a little bit! :) For safety reasons, I won’t post its exact whereabouts before the wedding, but if you’re interested in finding out you can email me!

The interior, with its sculpted, vaulted ceilings and stained glass. It holds up to 700 people!

The side windows let in plenty of soft, natural light.

… And the exterior has lovely brick details, sort of like Fort Point and our wedding portraits.

It’s gorgeous Miss Plumeria. It’s modern, but retains that classic, traditional style. It will be a beoootiful wedding!

OMG! Miss Plumeria! I’m a member of that church!! (Don’t worry, I won’t ‘out’ your location.) It really is gorgeous, and the people are soooo nice. Are you having the ministers from the church do your ceremony? They’re all amazing. And the organist is SO talented. I’m getting married at the church I grew up in in Pennsylvania, but if I were having the ceremony in the Bay Area I would definitely have it there!

oh wow. that is so pretty! though i’d feel a little weird getting married in a church other than my own…but for a place like this? i’d get over it. lol

Thanks everyone. I am getting soooo excited. :)

J that is so funny!!! :) Thanks for keeping my secret hahaha. It is an incredibly beautiful church!

Tea — my church is also a school and so it doesn’t really have the room or facilities to have a nice big wedding. The church pictured also has restrictions on who can get married there — ie. must be member of a church of like faith, etc. must use their minister unless they know yours (we’re using ours, as our church is rather similar and the pastors are acquainted). So it would have been a very comfortable arrangement, even if the church hadn’t been so beautiful! :)

Looks good. Some denominations won’t let you “shop around” for the venue you think looks the best. Hope you enjoy it and especially the pipe organ for music!

This church is sooo perfect! Please email me the name of the church. I would love to have the ceremony in a church but have not been able to find one that has good lighting. I would email you but I couldn’t find your email address on your blog site/profile.

Congrats on your marriage!
