About Mrs. Emerald

Oh Happy Day!

April 25th, 2007 @ 1:54 pm by Mrs. Emerald

Note to self - Stop second guessing my own decisions!! After I placed the order for my bridesmaids dresses back in January, I started having second thoughts. I kept seeing all these other pretty dresses that I hadn’t seen before. Where the heck did they all come from?! My other main concern was color. I knew I wanted the Jasmine B2 B3308 dress in a dark red chiffon, but the Berry was too fire-engine red, and the Cranberry was too maroon (see old post). I decided to upgrade the fabric (an additional $23 per dress) from regular chiffon to Tiffany Belsoie Chiffon, which I was told was a deeper shade of irridescent red. So I placed the order and have had my fingers crossed ever since! Finally the dresses were delivered to my parents’ house yesterday! You better believe that I ripped into that box the minute I walked in the door. blush03 Perfecto! Here are pics of my adorable sister, aka my Maid of Honor. Can you tell that she LOVES it? She plans to wear it to a future Homecoming dance, YAY!

The color is actually deeper with a hint of shimmer (these darn point-n-shoot cameras never get it right, or maybe I’m just a bad photographer, haha). It needs to be taken in around the bust, and the hem taken up about three inches. Other than that, I think my sister looks stunning, and oh-so-grown-up (she’s turning 16 soon). It came with straps as well, so maybe we’ll add those on if she feels uncomfortable.

Netbride Review: A+

Not sure I can say much more than what’s already been said about this company! Netbride is fast, efficient, with great customer service as well as prices! I contacted the rep multiple times about fabrics, colors, pricing, and even had them hold my order at one point when I started having my second thoughts. They were very patient with me, and that was much appreciated! The dresses came out to $145 each (initial price was $122, upgraded fabric brought it up to $145), plus $20 shipping, and no tax. I think we probably saved about $40 to $50 per dress. They took three months to arrive, over a month earlier than the promised delivery date of May 30 (I’m sure they over-estimate the date to give themselves some leeway).

so pretty! Those are the same dresses I’m having! It’s great the color worked out for you.

I actually saw mine for the first time last weekend too, but was a little disappointed.. I wanted a lilac color, but the ‘lavendar ice’ was really really light and the swatch looked more gray than purple. I debated for awhile and ended up choosing ‘orchid’, which looked more vibrant. But it was so hard to tell from those tiny square swatches they have in their books… the online picture of orchid is a definite purple that I thought was really pretty. But when I saw the actual dresses in my closet (my mom had picked them up) I got all upset because they looked pink!

When I brought them to my shower the next day and had them in the sunlight, they actually are purple.. just more of a pinkish purple than I was planning, for our lilac and blue color scheme. Oh well.. we’ll make it work. In any case I love the cut of the dress, they are so flattering on everyone!

Yay! that’s so exciting! I can’t wait to see mine. They said they’d ship by july 17 and my wedding is aug 17, so i’m hoping they overestimated too. I’m a way anal over planning type and so just a month for alterations gives me a slight case of hives. But i know it’ll work….

Very pretty! I’m so glad the color worked out for you. I think you devised a very smart solution to that problem. Are they going to wear gold shoes? They look great with the dress. And your sister looks adorable. :) I ordered from Netbride too–due date is July 9!

I picked those shoes out specifically for my sister cuz they have a lower heel (2 inches-ish) and are RIDICULOUSLY comfy!! My other BMs will be wearing champagne colored heels that are higher. I will take pix of the shoes and post them up with brand and style name. =) Anything for the readers! haha
