Taking It To Another Level

April 25th, 2007 @ 4:03 pm by Mrs. Strawberry

So I admit, I’m a little anal about wedding details. Decorating the bathrooms? That goes waaaay beyond “a little”. I just wish I had thought of it first!

Linda says:

That’s a great idea for restrooms that aren’t in the best of shape!

2.
Didi says:

Wow…the one with the green drapes looks so lush.

3.
Miss Lemon says:

wow…. i can only imagine that cost someone another $1000+ for a pretty bathroom…

4.
J says:

I think I would be a little freaked out if I walked into one of those bathrooms, actually! Although I do love how the vertical ties kind of make the doors look like bow ties.

abc and 123 says:

I suppose that is a bit *anal* as you said . . .

Gives a whole new meaning to toilet paper bride.

christina says:

I’m with J.
Someone slap me if I say I’m decorating the bathroom and I need places to find pink and green toilet tank covers. Seriously- line up and all of you slap some sense into me.

7.
Lydia says:

Wow, this seems a little ridiculous. Are you going to have specialty toilet paper as well? Maybe tampons/pads that match your color scheme could be displayed in a decorative container?

8.
Miss Snow Pea says:

Oh Miss Strawberry, why do you do this to me! :) I was thinking the same..wish I had thought of it first lol

Hey, Always has green wrap on their pads and I am sure another brand has pink ones for those of you doing pink/green themes. kekeke

I have seen places that will monogram bathroom paper napkins and toilet paper for you.

Amma says:

That, to me, is the most ridiculous thing I’ve seen for a wedding. I think I would gasp in horror, and then laugh out loud if I saw that. I think a bathroom with some candles, flowers, perhaps some rose petals is enough!

Courtney says:

Hahaha to Miss Snow Pea…I think Carefree wraps their pantyliners in pink!

miss violet says:

i’ve been to a wedding where the bathroom was so horrible.. this makeover would have been necessary.

12.
Miss Plumeria says:

Wow! Yeah it is a bit over the top I must say. But if my budget was endless what wouldn’t I do, honestly?

This reminds me of one time during undergrad when some girls taking Intermedia (Installation Art) decorated the ladies’ room as their project. It was actually really, really cool.

kandaceandjason says:

This is a bit excessive, to say the least. I was having a hard time justifying a bathroom basket, but not after this. Yeesh!

14.
Tea says:

i would be so confused if i walked into this bathroom at a wedding. then probably make a face and wonder how much money they blew on it…i’ve somehow became my mom.

15.
tofu says:

you’re kidding me, right? very pretty indeed but what a waste of money. spend the money elsewhere, i say.

16.
cupcake says:

The bathroom thing is a bit too much…but i have to admit, i would be pleasantly suprised if I saw that when i walked in… better than having a dirty, ugly bathroom..

Iris says:

And this is just the MEN’S room!

bliss says:

I agree with J I would be freaked out too. Just a little goes a long way. I don’t want my guests to spend too much time in the bathroom and not out at the party.

19.
thao326 says:

Yeah I agree. Its a total waste of money. Rose petals on the floors is kinda weird.
I have to admit though, the green one at the end is pretty beautiful.

20.
Mrs Ant says:

i think these bathrooms were more lavishly decorated than my actual reception!

21.
Laura K says:

I think the decorations don’t match the bathrooms. Maybe it would look nice in a bathroom with marble floors (I’m thinking department store bathroom). Those restrooms just look grungy! I want to cringe and pick that beautiful green fabric up off the nasty tile.
Some things just can’t be dressed up. I’d rather the restrooms were scrubbed meticulously clean than covered in drapery.

22.
C says:

I think the door decor is sort of cute… not sure I’d go to the trouble, but, it’s definitely festive! I love the bows with gerber daisies.

meli says:

oh my….

24.
Arivechi says:

wow, that’s a lot of thought and effort to decorate the room that I’d hope people DON’T have to hang out in too long. Do your business, fix your hair and vacate the bathroom. A vase of flowers = nice. Flowers on every surface = dizzying

wsukarebear says:

The fabric is over the top, but I think some of the other detials would just be pleasant! No I don’t have the money for it and I wouldn’t obsess over it, but like someone said, if we had no budgets…why not???

26.
Fallon says:

Even though I think this is a little excess because I think I’m going to have a tight budget for my wedding I thought this Idea was very cute. I think I would stick to something basic like some scented candles and flowers on the counter along with the basket. I’m not sure if and I would decorate the doors and if so how.

On another note I do see what Mrs. Bee was saying about the comments turning sour. I hope that people remember that this is a place to celebrate weddings and that all comments should be thoughtful and should not be straight up mean. There are ways to say something without being rude.

kp says:

haha - Miss Snow Pea’s comment cracked me up~ :)

28.
lisa says:

hmm, not for me. :P

katie says:

i think that’s an awesome idea for bathrooms that aren’t in the best of shape. you can add flowers or some kind of small decorations to make it more pretty and wedding-like. i love this idea! it’s definitely not something you would do to bathrooms in upscale hotels or nice venues but quiet possibly for church bathrooms and such. i like!

30.
Jilly says:

Good Lord - just what we need, another completely ridiculous, expensive, and unnecessary wedding trend.

kanipark says:

i like that last one the bestest… the other ones just seem like you’re trying too hard ;)
