Brooklyn Botanical Garden

April 30th, 2007 @ 1:30 pm by Mrs. Bee

Some of you have asked me to do a review of my Canon Rebel xTi, but I’ve really only used it a handful of times the past two months. Since Mrs. Ladybug and I have the same camera and we both wanted to practice using it, we went to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden yesterday for the Cherry Blossom Festival. It was jam packed, but if you can go during the week, it’s an absolutely gorgeous place to take engagement pictures.

To show you what the camera is capable of with my extreme novice skills, I thought I’d share some of the pictures I took. These photos are not retouched, and were all taken using basic auto focus settings. I’m truly a beginner with the DSLR, so I can’t wait to get a whole lot better! :)

Gorgeous tulips in every color, shape and size.

There was actually a wedding going in the Palm House on while we were there.

I’ll definitely be taking a lot more pictures now that it’s spring, and will do a more in-depth review of my camera when I get a bit better. :)

My husband bought me the Rebel xTi for my birthday last month, and I love it! It’s easy to use, pretty inexpensive, and small & lightweight (for an SLR)…perfect for a woman’s smaller hands.

The tulip pics are amazing. I’m surprised that BBG has so many pink cherry blossom trees..the white ones are so much prettier.

lynn-
I have the XT which I hear is being discontinued. The only real differences between the two are that the XTi has an inner Self Cleaning Sensor Unit and more megapixels (10.1 vs my 8). Those are the only digital Rebels that Canon makes.
For more info go to: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ProductCatIndexAct&fcategoryid=111
I hope this helps!
