About Mrs. Pumpkin

Mr. Pumpkin has finally finished making all of our shepherd hooks for the ceremony site and they look so great! He really did a nice job on them, and knowing that he really put a lot of effort into making them perfect for me makes them so much more special than anything we could have bought in a store. We will now clean up all of these beauties and powder paint them a lovely chocolate brown so that they are ready for the jars of flowers we will hang on them with pink ribbons. I will be working on that little DIY project this upcoming week so I should have a finished product to show you soon. I promise to take pictures of my process although I am sure that you all could do this without any instruction from me.As appears to be my MO, I have placed a shoe (size 7 womens) at the top of the hook so you can get a sense of how big the hook is.

The hook looks great. I was considering looking for some kind of hook stand from which to hang lanterns outside. How is he making them?

Wow, how did he MAKE those? Very cool… our venue doesn’t allow anything to be stuck into the ground =/

Miss Pumpkin those look great! That is almost exactly what we want to do for our ceremony site, although we will probably use tin pails with flowers instead of jars. Can you tell me where you bought the shepherd’s hooks? The cheapest I’ve found them is on ebay for $3.95 each, but they are shorter than yours (and shipping is $$$ of course!).

Oops, is it obvious I only skimmed the post - I thought when you said “made” you meant painted or finished - Mr. Pumpkin actually what, welded those? I wish my FI were so manly!

Yes, Mr. Pumpkin made them but I have no idea how! :> I will get him to explain it for y’all when he gets home from work. I do know that he heated the steel up (maybe with a welding torch?) and then bent the steel around a bolt that he had put into a work bench table. I hope that makes some sort of sense!

Manly man! Definitely need demo photos on this project. Also what do the rods cost, where do you get them, how much weight can they hold, how far should they be stabbed into the ground? (Sorry, you can tell I’m really interested in this!)

To editors: Hey, whatever happened to Mr. Monkey? Kind of liking the guy-DIY!
