OK, So I Lied…

[A followup on Monday's Post] Yesterday, based on many of your comments (thanks, by the way!), I was all ready to pull the trigger and order Dress #1 in ivory.

ivory red flower

The two dresses were sitting in my virtual shopping cart just waiting for me to enter in my credit card number. But when the final tally came up to over $120 including shipping, I got a case of cold feet.

I had to pause and instead decided to look up my old friend Amazon one last time. Some more browsing brought me to a dress that I liked, and that was on clearance. *ding ding ding* Music to my ears!! However, since they were on clearance, sizes and colors were limited. I needed sizes 18 months and 4T, preferably in ivory. Unfortunately, they only had the ivory in a 4T, and the 18 month in pink. I mulled it over and decided to order them anway. I figured that I would put a pink sash on the ivory dress, and an ivory sash on the pink dress. My friend K said that little the baby would act as an “accent color,” haha. Here are the dresses with a seriously ghetto illustration of how the sashes may look:

I’ll get rid of that big ole bow somehow. These dresses are poly-silk, which is the same fabric that the more expensive one above is made of, and originally retailed for $70 - $80 each. As for my total bill for BOTH dresses including shipping? Just under $44 (ivory dress was $19.99, pink dress was $14.99)!!! Please don’t call me cheap! I prefer the term,”economical.” laughin010

They are from Amazon seller Webb Direct 2U, which also carries a few of the same styles as Flower Girl US. Of course there is the familiar saying, “You get what you pay for…” so let’s hope that this wasn’t just $44 down the drain… *fingers crossed*

Wow, those are ghetto illustrations. But I’m with you–that’s a whole lot to pay for something that’s going to get grown out of almost immediately. And now you can use the giany bow on the ivory one to make a sash for the pink one. Accent Baby!

I actually got my FG dresses at an “after easter” sale at Lord and Taylor for $13 and $21! I got home and was so jazzed at the deal that I called my MIL and SIL (the FG’s mother) to tell them how excited I was and what a great deal it was.
The dresses fit beautifully, and I only had to go to two stores to get the right sizes.

Gotta love a bargain! For us, the flowergirl’s mother called and said, “I just picked up something for $19.99 that matches the attendants’ dresses perfectly, and am emailing you a photo. Let me know if it’s OK.” TA-DA, a bargain, mother-approved, fits the kid, and — *check!* — one less thing to worry about.
