For All Your Future Showers

May 8th, 2007 @ 11:23 am by Mrs. Lemon

Last week, I sent a care package to all of my BMs (and hand delivered two of them) as a small “thank you” for the wonderful shower that they jointly threw on my behalf in April. I wanted to make sure I got common presents for all, but also individualized them as much as I could. I went with the old “play on words” theme and decided to get them all things to make their future showers wonderful… and off I went to the mall(s) to gather my supplies. I started with my one essential gift — the umbrella — and built the rest of the goodies around it.

Each gal got a color-coordinated ensemble with an umbrella (H&M), body wash (Bath & Body Works) and a small body lotion (not shown) , 3 scented votives (Illuminations) and a votive holder, and a handmade card (yes it’s felt hand sewn onto the backing). Each one of the packages came to less than $15 with shipping included… thanks to my sale-sniffing ways.

Here are photos of the other packages (sans candles):

Did anyone else have to get lots of shower thank-you presents for their hosts? What did you end up doing??

This is almost EXACTLY what I’m doing, except mine came up to about $30 each (no H+M here, drats). I got each hostess a Totes boutique brella umbrella and a color-coordinated shower gel and pouf from Bath & Body Works. I also made color-coordinated cards on Vista Print that say, “I hope all your “showers” are as wonderful as the one you’ve given me” (the one consistant color throughout is pink, so it is a white card with pink font and a pink border). I had to get five for one shower and four for another. Almost $300 for thank-you gifts - ouch. But they are very dear to me and are giving me a shower, so it’s definitely worth it. I love this idea!

Your girls will love those! I’ve co-hosted a few showers and never gotten any fun thank yous! (Not that I would have done anything different if I had). I will keep this idea in mind when my shower comes!

How did you get the felt to match the umbrellas?? Can you just draw/paint on it?

I just put together the same thing for my girls over the weekend. I am really excited to give them to them… I placed all of their goodies in shower caddies from the dollar store too!

Cute idea with the shower pun!

I maintain a box of miscellaneous gifts stashed away (bargain surplus fun stuff), and I used a lot of my stash around the wedding. When else can you use (or, rather, need) so many equivalent generally-applicable gifts for lots of people? Candles, umbrellas, sachets, soaps, lotions, accessories, luggage tags, stationery, all sorts of fun stuff.

I gave the girls who threw me a shower each a watch set with 10 interchangeable bands as a thank you “for all the time they spent planning my bachelorette party and shower.”

I have four bridal showers, with a total of 13 planners! However, for two of the showers (6 of the planners) I’ve ordered personalized stationary from the $30 or less section at Stationary Studio online. They’ll be getting 4 pads of personalized paper for anything from notes to friends or for shopping lists. I enjoy good stationary, so I thought they might also!

For the remaining 7 planners (and last 2 showers) I’ve been looking for slightly less expensive thank you gifts, although I like your idea and might amend it a little to keep the prices down. The umbrella in and of itself might be a cute thing! Thanks for the suggestion!
