About Mrs. Bell Pepper

I think I have been most indecisive when it came to picking my wedding flowers. I’m sure my florist hates me for being this way, I must have changed my wedding colors like 3-4 times! First I wanted deep shades of burgundy, dark purple, and champagne. I thought the colors were too dark so I went for lighter shades of lavender, mint green, and gold. I changed our reception color scheme but I kept the dark shades of burgundy in my wedding bouquet. To make communication easier, I found a photo of exactly what I wanted for my bouquet so that my florist would know what flowers to incorporate. Here’s what my bouquet will look like:

I found this bouquet on Beautiful Blooms website. The bouquet is large but I think I can handle walking down the aisle with it. :) Now the question is do you think I should add a butterfly like the photo above? I might consider buying this one for the bouquet:

I love the crystal design but I don’t know if it will stand out as much as the one in the photo. I could buy an opaque butterfly from the local craft store but I think I would have to decorate its wings with super fine yellow-green glitter. Paper Source sells a collection of butteflies and they have them in all kinds of shades:

So should I add a butterfly to my bouquet or not? Do you think the crystal butterfly goes better with the bouquet or what about the Paper Source butterfly?

Crystal one is pretty.

I was glad to hear the other ones shown were artificial — at first they looked like those dead ones in a glass display case.

Now I have that Mariah Carey song in my head.

I say no butterfly. The flowers are beautiful on their own.

the crystal one is gorgeous, but I’m wondering how the weight of it would affect how it sits in your bouquet.

I like the crystal one, but how big is it??

I think the butterfly downplays the bouquet and won’t make it match with what I’m sure is a gorgeous white wedding dress. But if you do choose a butterfly, I like the crystal one

I think that butterfly on the bouquet picture goes really well with it. Thus, I don’t like the crystal one as much. Not as “cute” but I’m not quite sure what look you’re going for. If you prefer elegant, then maybe crystal is the way to go. However, I don’t like the Paper Source butterflies either. They look a bit too “real”/scary to me. Maybe because the wings are more pointed. But yeah, I’d go for the butterfly. =)

Love your bouquet. Quick question for you. Do you have any florists you recommend in Philly?
