Giving In

May 10th, 2007 @ 10:56 am by Mrs. Monkey

Throughout the wedding planning process, Mr. Monkey has tried implementing many of his “creative” ideas into the wedding…and I’ve pretty much rejected everything from the groomsmen wearing monkey suits idea to entering the ceremony with Mr. Roboto playing in the background idea. I’ve been feeling bad about not using a lot of his ideas…so, I’ve decided to give in to one of his requests.

Introducing….Our Wedding Invitation Stamps!

Giving In : wedding new york postage Z878952 star wars stamp

These stamps aren’t out until the summer…in the meantime, you can vote on your favorite stamp, which will be made into a separate sheet of 20 stamps.

Vote here for your fave stamp here.

I really hope that one of these two stamps win.

Miss Snow Pea you just made me spray coffee on my screen. I’m with her.

We need our stamps sooner, so we’ll be getting the full sheets at the end of the month. We’ll save the Emperor for sending out bills.

I wish we could have used these! I voted for Darth Maul, but he’s far down on the list. I hope Darth Vader wins. Much cooler than Yoda. Feh on Yoda. If we were going to be announced at the wedding–which we’re not– we would have done it to the “evil Darth Vader” theme.

The original Star Wars trilogy is among my all-time faves.

I was seriously thinking about using those, as well. I sooo voted for Yoda, too! Or voted for Yoda, I did. Whichever you prefer. You ladies are cute. :-)

We are using Star Wars Stamps for our Invitations too! My FI is a total Star Wars geek, in fact we are going to Star Wars Weekend at Disney in June!

Loving the Leila with R2D2. My FI was fired up about these for our save the dates. Unfortunately our post office was sold out!

Ack! I wish I could’ve used these. But we sent our invitations last week, so went with the cute but sort of boring Hershey kisses instead. I’m so jealous that others are putting Star Wars on their invites!

This is too funny!!!! My FI and I are doing the same thing. We are currently doing our save the dates so these are the stamps we are using for them… I even thought about creating a motif by getting a grooms cake with a star wars theme—since my boo loves Star Wars. We’ll see!!!!

BTW—I love Yoda

We’re using those stamps for the STDs and invitations too! I’m a geek and FI is a total geek. Before we were ever engaged, FI always talked of having storm troopers at the wedding to basically march in front of me, stop, face each other, and have me walk between them military-style. Did I mention he also wanted people dressed up as Lord of the Rings characters complete with Frodo delivering the rings? .. but I digress..

Yes, these stamps will be my little way of appeasing FI. I get extra credit for coming up with the idea myself because he didn’t even know about the stamps! I’ll also be surprising him with a Star Wars groom cake delivered by one or two storm troopers at the reception! My brother’s in the 501st so it’s super-easy to get it arranged. :) (and if you know what the 501st is, you get uber bonus points!)

C - Dragon*Con! I went to my first “con” last year. Are you from GA? We actually live in the Atlanta suburbs, but this year we’re staying at the Hilton for a little get-away. My only requirement is that we do something non-geeky Friday night. :)

We’re also using these stamps! We’re geeks too, and LOVE the Star Wars. It’s one of the first things we bonded over.

But… is it bad mojo to send out your invitations with Vader stamps?? I also refuse to use the stamps from episodes I-III. I’ll save those ones for bills. Eat THAT, Verizon!
