About Mrs. Plumeria

Programs = DONE

May 10th, 2007 @ 6:37 pm by Mrs. Plumeria

Things are falling into place fast, thanks to a crew of great friends and family who pitched in (some on super last-minute notice!) to help put favors, etc. together this past weekend. I’ll shut up now and show the pics…I’m really happy with how these turned out!

The cover (names blurred for all pics, again) - vellum printed at the press with custom inks. Size is 4.25″x11″ folded down to 4.25″x5.5″. The vellum pages in the program were actually run at the same time as the invitations, to save money — with offset lithography, it’s always better to do any items that use the same color ink at the same time.

Inside, the welcome page and another vellum sheet, with one of our engagement photos and a watermark of the floral motif.

Remember the invitation vellum wraps? I had planned to print these at the same time, to save cost, and then asked if there was any extra room on the press sheet to print something else. Upon learning that I still had room for another 4.25″x11″ sheet, I printed this one, with a couple of our engagement photos (and of course, a credit to our photographers).

The beauty of the vellum is that it works as a double-sided sheet of sheer color, which offsets the next page, a thank-you note to our parents and guests, as well…

The inner “centerfold,” with the order of the ceremony comes next…

… And then, a vellum page, highlighting the bridal party list as well as the next page of thank-yous.

… and finally, the last thank-you page and back cover.

Everything was bound with the same gold thread as the invitations. :) I hope our guests like ‘em!

Hi all! :) Sorry if I’m a bit slow with comment replies. Needless to say, there’s TONS going over here. (Though I think I thrive on this… yesterday my mom commented that my best ideas come when I’m under pressure. I think it’s true.)

But anyway, the motif was created in Illustrator as vector art. It was made with a combination of manipulated font swashes, as well as hand-drawn (w/ pen tool) flourishes. Once created, it was pretty easy to apply it as a single image to anything I wanted. :)

Sorry such a late reply — ange, I created the flourishes in Adobe Illustrator. If you don’t have or know how to use the program, I suggest perhaps purchasing stock flourishes from a stock illustration/photo site like istockphoto. Good luck!
