Waiting Is Hard!

May 10th, 2007 @ 7:25 pm by Mrs. Emerald

But luckily, Dennis didn’t make us wait TOO long!

We spent about 3 hours wandering around downtown Chicago on a chilly Wednesday evening. Hrmm, and even though I was not used to wearing so much makeup, I think it translated great on camera and didn’t look overdone at all! What do you think?! And let me apologize in advance for the copious kissing shots. I have to say that kissing on command is NOT easy! I think we looked rather awkward in alot of those, with weird puckered expressions (below are the “normal” looking ones) hehe … We got back over 180 shots, but here’s a rundown of my favorites! Enjoy!

epics1.jpg
In the lobby of the Park Hyatt Chicago. My friend, one of the hotel managers, gave us access to anywhere in the hotel for some fun pix!

epics2.jpg
Very cool reflection…

epics3.jpg
Check out my shoes

epics4.jpg
On the bed… but fully clothed! I think this may be my favorite out of the bunch. But Mr.E thinks his nose looks smooshed!

epics5.jpg
Maybe we’ll use this one for our E-Save-the-dates that we are planning to send out soon.

epics6.jpg
I adore the lighting in this pic…

epics7.jpg
Trying to be creative, haha… and slightly uncomfortable!

epics8.jpg
Requisite ring shot… I came up with this idea, hehe.

epics9.jpg
On the hotel terrace. Although you can’t really see my face here, I love the buildings in the background and the railings.

epics10.jpg
Still on the terrace.

epics12.jpg
Here we are in the private dining room of the hotel’s 5-star restaurant… lying ON the table. It was especially awkward when an employee randomly walked in on us!

epics13.jpg
Strolling…

epics14.jpg
Defining moments.

epics15.jpg
In front of the Museum of Contemporary Art.

epics16.jpg
We were trying to do the Monkees walk…

epics17.jpg
Shopping at our favorite store, Banana Republic! I was kinda surprised they didn’t kick us out or even say anything to us, but we were trying to be discreet.

epics18.jpg
Ohhh, lookee!

epics19.jpg
Chicago in the Springtime is abound with tulips!

epics20.jpg
On the bridge overlooking the Chicago River (that’s Trump Towers going up on the right)

epics21.jpg
Millenium Park, in front of the “Bean,” as I like to call it. This is where we went on our first date!

epics22.jpg
The Pritzker Pavillion. And in these very seats is where he first held my hand…

epics23.jpg
Notice the leg kick!

epics24.jpg
In the taxi, wrapping up the shoot…

We were cold, tired and hungry by the end of the shoot, but it was so worth it! Seeing these pictures makes me even more excited to eventually see our wedding pictures! I think Dennis will do an amazing job of capturing the pivotal moments (versus a lot of the moments above, which were more “staged”).

:) really lovely photos and congratulations!!!

i remembered our photoshoot too and we feel awkward..not really the model type

the whole duration was 12 hours and by the time it was 9pm, we felt so drained and our smiles were quite fake….

haha…but it was a memorable one!!!

Oh haha, for some reason I thought you guys were in a subway (in the first pic) and the photographer had used Photoshop to change the look of the “outside”…so never mind. =P (Maybe I’ll experiment with that in my own photographs!)

I do like a lot of the pics though!
