Stone Guestbook

May 11th, 2007 @ 6:06 pm by Mrs. Bee

I love this unique guestbook idea I recently found in an old issue of Real Simple Magazine. Have your guests write their name on white stones with paint markers, and after the wedding you can display them in a vase. Simple and beautiful. :-)

You can get 5 1/2 pound bags of polished white river stones for $6.99 at Jamali Garden or any garden supply store.

OH MY GOD!
I’ve been doing this for my placeholders for my garden wedding. I didn’t like the look of paint markers so I have been diligently painting names with acrylic and paintbrushes.

I’m in love with my “wocks” as my 2 year old nephew calls them.

Should I be bummed that MS thought of this first?

Also, we got 50# of polished river stones for $17 at a building supply place here in L.A.

small bags at ikea are only 69 cents each. it’s less than the prices i found at building supply places, even with an industry discount, i *think*.

Vic — I like your idea of using this as placeholders. Also for outdoor events, the rocks would help anchor napkins/menus so they won’t blow away.

That’s a fab idea!! I would love to do that for my own garden party but with the number of guest my parents plan to invite, I doubt I can get all the “wocks” back. :D

Rafidah, I’m hoping most guests will take their wocks home with them, but for those who don’t, I was thinking of either throwing them in my mom’s garden, or in a glass vase at my new home.

great idea- very unique! I love the idea of being able to put them on display after the wedding- much better than a bunch of signatures in a book that you’ll never open again!

What a gorgeous idea! Would also look nice arranged on a pretty plate, in the bathroom.
