Something Blue

May 15th, 2007 @ 9:30 am by Mrs. Bell Pepper

I found our “something blue” idea from one of my favorite Philadelphia knottie weddings, MrsMek. She had these copper orbs that opened to reveal a glazed blue dish where she presented her and her husband’s wedding bands.

I love the messages inside each blue dish!

I stopped by the shop that sold the orbs and the owner told me they also had chinese wedding orbs with the double happiness symbol.

My fiance loves this idea! I have a tendency to take off my engagement ring and forget where I place it. My fiance gets really worried but now I have a stylish place to store my rings!

Those are beautiful! And much more stylish than the olive oil dishes I’m currently using to hold my ring!

I emailed MrsMek about them when the Bee posted her bio, and the store is very helpful. one thing MrsMek told me is “if you get one, buy some metal cleaner and give the holder a rub a few days before you use them. Your fingerprints show as black after awhile. But, metal cleaner makes it shine up again. :)”

Thought it might be helpful for those getting them! :)

Oh, I’m so glad other readers like the idea! One other tip: if you really plan to use them for ring storage, apply a light coat of clear nail polish over the writing inside. This will prevent the writing from chipping away as you use the holder.

(and, yeah, that first pic is black & white)
