About Mrs. Blueberry

Hair Trial

May 16th, 2007 @ 5:49 pm by Mrs. Blueberry

Choosing a wedding-day hairdresser wasn’t even a question for me. The same lady has been cutting my hair since I was so little I had to sit in a booster seat (a board, actually) on her salon chair. She’s the only person in the world who can get my bangs to look right, the person who introduced me to highlights, and the person who was able to keep my post-”Locks of Love” cut from looking boyish–twice. In other words, Rhoda is really awesome.

Last Friday I went in with 5 pages of pictures, and directions Alissa gave me for how her hairdresser did her wedding hair. Rhoda and I talked about it and fiddled with a few ideas, and ultimately came up with a plan.

BUT before I post the pictures, I want to tell you a few things that will be changing:
~on the day-of, my haircolor will be darker/brighter. When this picture was taken, I hadn’t done anything to it in a REALLLY long time
~Also, on the day-of, the top part will be more even (there won’t be that angle-looking effect), and chunkier, more textured (she’ll curl it before pulling it back, instead of vice-versa
~There will also be LOTS more hairspray. LOTS more.
~I was a dum-dum and forgot to bring my veil. Yeah, I know.

So with that said…

Me and Rhoda together (horrible picture of both of us! yay!):

She’s so funny. We were talking about what happens if my hair falls flat at the wedding, and she said she’d bring along a can of hairspray on a holster for any urgent touch-ups smiley501. Even though she is an invited guest just because she’s awesome (not only for the purpose of fixing my hair!), it really is reassuring that she’ll be there to fix any hair emergencies, too.

How did my hair hold up after 8 hours? See for yourself:

Hopefully it’ll hold up better than that on the wedding day, though, since it’ll be hairsprayed a LOT more. Oh, and I won’t be spending much time lounging on the couch (squishing the curls), as I did that night.

I’m so happy with my wedding hair!!! Rhoda is amazing, no? smiley101

Gina–aww, you flatter me. :-D If you check my profile, it says I’m 21. I’m actually closer to 22 at this point. Not exactly an old lady, but certainly older than the 12-13 I’m frequently mistaken for! (yeah, really).

Your hair looks great! In fact, looks pretty similar to what I’m getting, just with less pulled back from the front, less height on top, and looser curls. I also forgot to bring my veil to my hair trial this past Sunday. Obviously there was something in the air. ;)
