Comment Moderation and Spam

May 17th, 2007 @ 12:25 pm by Mrs. Bee

We’ve had three readers email us this week about their comments not going through so we did a little investigating and found their comments in our spam box. For some reason our spam filter is acting extra aggressive this week!

If you post a comment and it’s held in moderation, it should immediately state that your comment is awaiting moderation. As mentioned previously if you include links in your comment, it’ll most likely end up in moderation (although the reason is often arbitrary). We clear our moderation queue several times throughout the day, so your comments should appear the same day you post them.

But if your comments are going directly into spam, you won’t get any notice other than your comments not showing up! If this happens, please email either Miss Lovebug or myself and we’ll clear your comments from the spam box. Our software “learns” from its mistakes when we correct them, so all of your future comments should go through.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience, so thanks for your patience and understanding! :-)
