Teach/Coach @ private schools in LA Engagement Date: March 31, 2006 Wedding Date: November 3, 2007 Venue: Radisson Hotel About Me: I'm a bookkeeper who failed high school algebra. I'm currently living in Los Angeles, literally a street over from where I grew up with Mr. Kiwi, my honey of three years. We have a jumbo mini-dachshund (seriously, he's huuuuge), and we're planning an autumn themed wedding on a shoestring, paid for by ourselves. The wedding date is my late grandma's birthday, I needed her there somehow, and that seemed like the best way for us. I can't believe I'm a Bee! I couldn't be more proud!

Let There Be Rehearsal!

May 18th, 2007 @ 1:23 pm by Mrs. Kiwi

Finally, FINALLY, I have gotten through to the rehearsal coordinator. She acted like I had never called, and despite my previous anger, I was flummoxed to have heard a voice and just put on my best ass-kissing voice. She was very nice and gave me her contact info (including the elusive email address) and told me all the things I need to get ready ahead of time. I think I impressed her with how much I have planned and done already. Well, lady, if you had spoken with me EARLIER you may not have been so surprised!

After speaking with her I called my FMIL, since she’s the one arranging our rehearsal dinner. When I told her the date of the rehearsal dinner, I realized something: It’s the date of our now anniversary! How cool is that?

We will be holding the rehearsal dinner on the Thursday before our Saturday wedding. Since Mr. Kiwi works there, I’m going to be the one busting my buns trying to get there at 4:30pm. Wait… I’m taking the day off anyway, so it’s really no big deal! Sweet. Everything is falling into place. We chose to have the Thursday because the ceremony is so early on Saturday morning. I have a feeling some family members may choose to partake in the chianti that is offered at our RD site, and try to sleep it off the next morning. Luckily they’ll be fresh faced for our wedding two days later! SUCKERS!

So, with things finally planned, now I have to figure out who to invite to this rehearsal dinner. CRAP.

Great news! We’re having just the bridal party (no spouses) and immediate family from OOT to the RD.

I would be interested in know who everyone is inviting to the rehearsal dinner. I think currently we are at about 20 with just GM, BM and immediate family. I am not against inviting spouses of our BM and GM but I was just wondering what everyone else was doing…

That’s why were having a BBQ at my parents’ house–we can pretty much invite whomever and not worry about numbers or comfort because there’s lots of space. ;-)

Right now are list is about 30 (includes immediate family, bridesmaids, groomsmen, the family of the flower girl & the family of the ringbearer). Am I missing anyone?

Hm… I think that I will be having about 30 people as well, maybe less. Since the flower girl is my 2nd cousin, do I invite her grandparents (my aunt and uncle)?

And my other aunt who is paying for a lot of the things for the wedding, do I invite her?

Invite her? I think you should tell her to “SUCK IT, CHURCH LADY!”

That just had me rolling when you wrote that.

Oh, oops. You meant your aunt. I should really pay better attention in class. Don’t tell your aunt to suck it.

bliss: it was my impression that spouses, for sure, are always invited.
