About Mrs. Lime

Many Thanks

May 18th, 2007 @ 2:26 pm by Mrs. Lime

I banged these out late last night in Adobe Illustrator. We will probably print them using our inkjet on some bright white card stock I already have to keep costs minimal on this project. Please let me know which you like best! I may do a combo of the buckslip sized ones just for a bit of variety.

Inside left blank (white) to write in. Each card is half of an 8.5″x11″ sheet of paper folded in half.

[2]

Flat card, buckslip size (fits into standard #9 or #10 envelope). Notes would be in the blank, aqua area.

Another buckslip-sized flat card.

Yet another buckslip.

Why the rush to design thank you cards when my invitations aren’t even done yet? The future in-laws called Mr. Lime to let us know that a few gifts from our registry have started to arrive at their place, which is where we’re having all of our gifts shipped. Once we’re settled into our new place and get our invitations done and out, we’re planning on picking up the gifts so that we can get started on thank you notes now. We’re attempting not to be procrasti-taters on this ;). Yep, we’re pretty much unpacking and getting rid of boxes so that we can make space for a new pile of boxes. Anyway, that means we need something to express our thanks on ASAP, so I borrowed elements from our invitations and website to make these simple cards fast. Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Very purty! But won’t that be ALOT of ink to use for the aqua colored part?

i think you should combine 2 and 4, but make the thank you slightly larger than the d+p

jennifer, yep, lots of ink. we have a fresh cartridge right now, and i’ll just be printing them as we need them (with a few extras in reserve).

I was thinking exactly was lolacola said–combine so it says “thank you” and “d+p” on a buckslip.

My favourite is actually #3, I love it! I really like that the graphic and the ‘thank you’ are on different parts of the card, I find it more visually interesting.

I was thinking the same- combine 2 and 4, but reduce the size of d + p a bit. Very cute!

I still love #1, especially with the cute little d+p in the back!

I just got the quote for our notecards back from the printer, and hoo dogies, was it higher than I expected–I was hoping $100-ish for 200 pieces, and the quote was closer to $300. Yipe! Perhaps printing at home is a better idea.

These are so great! Love the color combo. I think it’s important to have the “Thank You” on there…and I like the idea of combining 2+4 if the d+p is a little smaller.

I LOVE the design ideas. But I too am worried about the amount of ink involved… especially on the outer envelopes. Make sure that it’s water resistant or it’ll be a sloppy mess in the slightest drizzle. Could you just print a red design/text with aqua paper stock?

arivechi, no mention of outer envelopes here. i was going to use some red ones we have, and just handwrite addresses on those.

i’ve sent inkjet-printed cards inside regular envelopes before, and they usually get there ok.

thanks for the feedback, everyone!
