I admit, these past few hours I haven’t accomplished a whole lot…not that you can really see, anyway.
As soon as I finished my second batch of brownies, Dad came home and offered to take us to Strouds. If you’re not in KC, well, you’re missing out. Best fried chicken in town. Of course, since I have a gorgeous gown to fit into, I had broiled salmon.
But everyone else seemed to enjoy the fried chicken!
As soon as we got back home, Mr. Blueberry and I dashed to Wal-Mart and picked up a couple last minute items: corkscrews/bottle openers for the self-serve bar, votives for the fireplace arrangement and tealights for the centerpieces.
When we got back to the house, I saw Julie’s car in the driveway. She had tights for three of the flower girls, and wanted my approval on outfits for her family to wear at the rehearsal dinner. She said I was the most laid-back bride she’d encountered…HA! Fooled her, didn’t I? ![]()
Now I’m *probably* done with baking and physical projects for the rest of the evening (watch me eat my words later). While we were waiting to be seated at the restaurant, I started making up “to-do” lists for everyone who needs one–everyone from my dad (pick up baklava, and make sure Maxie’s wearing her wedding collar, among other things), to my friend Stefanie (do your reading, and have fun!). That way, no one has any excuse to be running around like a chicken with its head cut off
.
Tomorrow morning I’ll be up bright ‘n’ early again (though probably not as early as the 6:00 I was awake at this morning), and I’ll finish up the baking, as well as sorting…good lord so much sorting.
Oh yeah, and bachelorette party tomorrow night! Hopefully by that time I’ll have absolutely *everything* done, and can just rest on my proverbial laurels until Friday at 6:30 (HA! again).
Also, I’ve gotta add: I could *not* be getting all this done without Mr. Blueberry’s help! He has been absolutely amazing through this whole process, and I know that even though he must be rather irritated with me dictating notes to him as I roll out snickerdoodles, he’s not letting on (well, maybe a little). He’s a really great source of strength and support for me, and since he’s the whole reason this wedding is happening I’m trying really hard to always be conscious of his input
