Our Escort Cards

May 23rd, 2007 @ 4:26 pm by Mrs. Bell Pepper

I have a confession to make. Our wedding day is really creeping closer and I’m starting to feel a little stressed out. It’s kind of scary how our wedding seemed so far away and now it’s only in a few weeks! My parents are coming the week before the wedding, and I would like to find time to relax and spend time with them.

Last night I created our escort cards for the reception. My first idea was to create flowers for each guest but I realized that would be too time-consuming, especially knowing that I only have a few more weeks left. I tried folding mini-escort cards out of pearlescent paper and I really didn’t like how the folded edges turned out using my bone folder. I like really neat corners and edges so I wanted to use something that already had a clean design. I liked the lavender envelopes we used for our RSVP cards so I tried creating a design using them. I used gift wrap paper as the background and printed out each of the guests’ names on vellum paper. To bring out more color I added the double happiness paper punch on the left of each card. It’s great because it helps cover up the adhesive I used to seal the vellum paper to the card and it adds more security to the paper:

I scaled each table card to about 50% of the original size and printed them out on 5×7 glossy paper. I think guests will like this idea because the picture can help them match which table they are assigned to.

I’m not sure if I’ll add something between each column of escort cards. Some brides used satin ribbon and flowers. I might go without the ribbon and flowers. I do like the tiling effect of all the escort cards when they are placed together. What do you guys think I should do?

ok question, how does the picture postcard tie into the escort card, is that next to their card so they know their table? also where did you get the double happiness stamp punch, LOVE IT

The card is actually an envelope, so they will have to break to seal to see the mini table card.

I got the double happiness punch of ebay!

I’m thinking about changing the design. I talked to our caterer and he liked the circular menu idea, maybe we’ll do the same with the escort cards.
