Beehive

May 24th, 2007 @ 3:42 pm by Beehive

In today’s hive:

  1. Joyful would like to find a good embosser, hopefully for under $50. Any suggestions?
  2. stp812 isn’t sure how to address an invitation to a couple who live together (and have children), but aren’t married. Do both names go on the outer envelope? Or just the name of the primary invitee (and both names on the inner envelope)?
  3. jbride wants to know: what’s the standard amount to spend on a bridal shower gift?

joyful - check out http://www.wgpress.com/embossers1.html
for embossers. do a search for them on weddingbee to see the ones the bees have ordered. great quality and price!

stp812 - i don’t know the exact etiquette off the top of my head, but i personally would put both names on the outer envelope because you know they’re a couple, they live together, and have children.

jbride - there is no standard, but i usually spend around $50.

stp812 - Adults’ names (woman before man; if both are same sex, then alphabetically) on the outer envelope, all invited guests’ names on the inner envelope.

Crane’s offers a useful guide:

joyful - depending on what kind you want, check out the one’s at Williams Sonoma. They’re very reasonable and nicely made.

joyful, staples also can make a basic one for about $30. they have one that’s just rectangular, 3-4 lines of text.

http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StaplesSearch?storeId=10001&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&categoryId=27402&cmArea=SEARCH&searchClassId=27402&keyword=custom+embossers&actualKeyword=embosser&searchSkuCount=4&compChartFlag=true&searchUnsumUrl=searchresults&searchSumUrl=searchresultssummary&errorUrl=searchnoresults&fromUrl=searchresultssummary&cmArea=SEARCH

i think you can call that number, or if your office has their “customized products” catalog laying around, take a look to see how it looks.

very basic, but the cheapest i’ve seen so far.

Thanks everyone! I just want something basic (one initial) for thank you notes - what can I say, I’m cheap.

A very simple and cheap one initial embosser is available at http://www.roomservicehome.com! You can even get it fancier for the same price….$28.00!!!!!

jbride: I don’t think there is a standard amount for bridal shower gifts. At the showers I have been to, I estimate it’s about $20 to $30.

Does anyone have any good pictures of the way sweetheart tables are set up in a reception? I envision our sweetheart table to have some sort of fabric draping behind it on the wall, but I can’t find a good picture that depicts that.
