About Mrs. Hibiscus

This past weekend, we celebrated my friend’s Bachelorette party at Hidden Talents dance studio in Huntington Beach. We had a private pole dancing lesson and it was a blast! Most of the girls are relatively shy but at the end everyone was posing and spinning like there was no tomorrow. I’d definitely recommend it, not only for a bachelorette party but for just a fun night out with the girls. You can also take regular classes just to work out. Maybe have a few sips of wine beforehand if you’re the conservative type. We were told to wear tight fitting clothing and a buttondown shirt that could be removed. Here are some highlights:

Why I Own Stripper Shoes, by Sarah

I own stripper shoes because I have taken classes at our local Xpose Fitness. Damn is that a good workout. You feel it the next day. You might even feel it later that same day.

I’ve never taken the pole class (I prefer “chair and floor,” which better explains the shoes), but it’s allegedly a monster biceps/triceps workout, even at the beginner level.

sfactor does classes as well, $480 for a 8 week session, 6 different levels. the absolute best class i’ve ever taken, and worth every cent. i’ve already signed up for level 2,and just installed a pole in my house! =)

Miss Hibiscus, could you write a post about which yacht company you chose and why? I am trying to chose which one to use for my 100 person wedding in the OC! I got a recommendation for Electra cruises, but I wanted to know what your extensive research taught you. Thanks!

I did a pole dancing class as part of my bachelorette party, too! It was a ton of fun and would be happy to do it again for a night out!

I took one session at Sfactor and it was the biggest waste of time. I have learned more in two weeks worth of classes at Hidden Talents, then I did 8 weeks with Sfactor. The s factor teachers were never dancers, there were no mirrors, even the tricks were not strip club realistic. I wanted to learn to dance like a real stripper for my soon to be hubby. Thank goodness I saw your blog about Hidden Talents because without it I would have been stuck at Sfactor looking silly on our wedding night. HT is half the price, more value and A LOT MORE FUN! I have only been there two weeks and I can already invert! (flip upside down! woohooo!) They also have a ton of cute shoes and outfits in their store :)
