I didn’t buy my reception dress until 2 weeks before the wedding. It was a close one but I had very specific criteria: it had to be long, it had to be lace and it had to be pink and brown. I was about to give up when I randomly spotted the puuurrrfect dress in Group USA at Jersey Garden Outlet Mall. It was barely $100 and met every one of my criteria. It fit but was a bit long so seamstress Papa stepped in again and hemmed the dress as best he could which, wasn’t easy considering its caught-in-a-shredder-look.

Here’s where the funny part of the story (starts to) come in. Everyone kept telling me I’d lose weight from all the stress etc. but right before my last fitting, I gained 2 pounds. I was all - I told you so! Ha! and everyone was all - fine, fine you defy logic we get it. Well, what do you know? I spoke too soon. Sure enough when I sauntered in my bridal salon to pick up the gown, I put it on just for kicks and found out I lost those two pounds and then some. It was truly a OH SH*T! moment. I went home with a week to gorge myself on cheeseburgers and sticks of butter. When that didn’t work I went to Victoria’s Secret and bought the thickest bustier/corset/bra thing they had. It gave me like 1/4 of an inch of padding. It worked for the wedding gown but not so much/at all for the reception gown. If it so pleases the court, I would like to officially mark the following as Exhibits A-C:
