A Weekend with the Girls!

May 30th, 2007 @ 2:55 pm by Mrs. Raspberry

I just returned from a fabulous weekend away with my leading ladies… and I know you can’t resist waiting any longer for a few pictures, so I put a couple of “appropriate” ones together…

And first I must say - I have THE BEST maid of honor in the world!

So the weekend started with us arriving in Western New York on Friday night… We stayed at her family’s cabin right on the golf course…

Saturday morning we had the dress fitting, which was very successful and then picked up the bridesmaid shoes at TARGET! They all liked the same pair and they were only $30!

Then we headed into East Aurora for a little fun… Since my youngest sister is 18 and couldn’t go out with us, MOH decided to put together activities all day… Starting with a scavenger hunt through town. Here we are as she is reading the rules…

We had an hour and five minutes to run all over town getting things like:
-signature of a hot guy - bonus points if it is on part of your body
-a picture in front of the headquarters for a major toy manufacturer
-a penny from my birth year
-a relationship quiz from a magazine
-a picture of one of the bridesmaids with a guy’s tatoo
-a picture of one of us in the men’s bathroom
-men’s underwear….
-and the list went on…We then were to be in the park by 1 to meet prince charming…and boy oh boy was he waiting for us!

We got to the park and he told us we needed to do a few things so he could pick his princess… the bride, of course, was the queen…So he made us do the following…

-To see how courageous we were we had to gallop around on a wooden horse shouting “the british are coming, the british are coming!”
-To see how intelligent we were we had to answer trivia questions about weddings
-To see how sexy we were we had to show him our sexiest dance
-To see how romantic we were we had to recite a Shakesprearian quote
-To see how beautiful we were we had to put on one of the most hidious lipsticks ever
-To see how stylish we were we had to pick out one piece of clothing from the strangest collection of random things ever and walk down the catwalk
-and to see how graceful we were we had to walk with a book on our head

IT WAS A BLAST! My sister ended up being chosen as his princess… which he did in total Bachelor TV show style… He lined us up and had one rose to give out! Here we are with him:

Then we all went home for a nap before the barbeque…

The barbeque was a blast and I got several things for the honeymoon… :) and a few things to wear out that night…

Then the limo arrived to take us downtown Buffalo… Here is a pic from the limo:

and the start of the bars…

and then things got a little wild :) (Yes, that is me and MOH riding a bucking Buffalo!)

The night came to a close with me dancing on the bar at the local “inn” SOOO much fun!

Sunday was the shower (which was beautiful) and a day of chilling and hanging out around the cabin and on the golf course… Here is a cute one of two of my bridesmaids…

All in all, I could not have imagined a better weekend… .There were games and prizes and fun ALL weekend!

I want to post more about the games, but it will have to be later…

Thanks Linds!!!

Looks like so much fun! I love the pictures! I can’t believe you found bridesmaid shoes at Target. I am in a wedding in a couple of weeks and have still not gotten my shoes for my dress. I have been eyeing up a pair on the Easy Spirit site though- they have some really cute ones!
