String Quartet Booked

May 30th, 2007 @ 11:00 am by Mrs. Plum

I FINALLY have all of my vendors booked with only 4 weeks to go. happy01

I chose Gyros String Quartet as my ceremony musicians based upon their years of experience, their professionalism, prompt responses, the fact that they put my mind at ease, and although I did not use it, they also offer the convenience of paying with credit card via PayPal, which is another great feature.

They have a fantastic website that has actual clips of them performing live and a large repertoire to choose from - I highly suggest visiting their site, if not only to help you decide what songs you want your dj and/or musicians to play for the ceremony (processional, recessional, candle-lighting ceremony, etc.).

I researched about 10 quartets/trios/harpists/classical guitarists before I decided on Gyros; they were probably the priciest group I looked up ($650 for ceremony performance only), but I couldn’t be happier with my choice - I’ve always imagined myself walking down the aisle to a string quartet. As an aside, it’s also important to me to have a great one because I used to play violin/viola myself back in the day (and some of my guests play professionally now!), so they’d notice if they weren’t very good.

It also really helped that when I closed my eyes and listened to the clips of their performances, I could totally imagine myself walking down the aisle and made the whole “getting married” experience seem more tangible.

I’m finally starting to feel like I’m really getting married!
