100 Days!!

May 31st, 2007 @ 1:58 pm by Mrs. Emerald

And tomorrow we will be in double digits! But check out what arrived yesterday… our very FIRST wedding present!!

DSC01700

It came from my dear friend R, who’s been like a big brother to me for the past 11 years. Unfortunately he’s out in L.A. and due to work commitments, he can’t make it to the wedding. sad01 But it was so sweet of him to still think of us and send something. I actually already knew this was coming because while updating my registry last week, I noticed that this was bought!! Haha, sneaky me. blush02 But it was still exciting nonetheless.

Mr. E was torn between opening it, or saving it until closer to the wedding. But I pointed out that we have to open them as they come so that we can be prompt with our Thank You’s. Which also brings up the point that our Thank You’s are still in the design phase from our graphic designer…

What was your first wedding gift??

Two sets of flatware! Yippee! We also received it months before our wedding.

Our first gift came last week! A Williams-Sonoma box arrived… a BIG box too! Inside: a lemon grass Le Cruset teakettle, an Emile Henry baker (small in Wms-Sonoma blue), and a coffee canister. My three favorite items… in ONE box!! Way to go Auntie N!!!

PS Still holding out hope for the Shun Ken Onion knife… Hey–a girl can dream.

our first was an allclad saucepan + set of oven mitts and potholders. Beautifully wrapped williams-sonoma style!

We opened our presents pronto too - because who wants to be tardy with your thank you cards?

Lisa, we also wanted the ken onion shun elite knife. Alas, 19+ days of marriage and we’re probably going to have to spring for it for christmas or something.

Our first gifts were actually engagment gifts I guess, since we got them about a month after we were engaged (yes, we created our registry that quickly). It was an all-clad lasagna/roasting pan and a large lasagna spatula from his grandmother. They’re italian and they have a special homemade lasagna recipe that I already am privy too!

First wedding gift was a set of two serving platters from Crate and Barrel…from someone who is not invited (and who wouldn’t expect to be — a friend of a friend). So nice!

An ice cream maker, even though we tried really hard to convince people we didn’t need any “stuff.” Our second gift was a contribution to a local pet rescue. Yay!

I just picked up our TY’s from the printer an hour and a half ago, and they’re gorgeous–so glad I got vellum envelopes to show them off.

Mine was a singing rice cooker :) Well, it doesn’t really sing but when the rice starts to cook and when it’s done, it belts out in melody.

Our first wedding gift was a coffee table from Pottery Barn!!! We received it about 6 months before our wedding. I couldn’t believe it! People can be so generous. :)

My first gift came a whopping 14 months before the wedding… I thought it was CRAZY to register so early, but my family kept asking…
I guess that technically makes it more of an engagement gift than wedding gift, eh?
I poke around my registry too, and just noticed that our coffee pot was gone… although I do have to admit that we aren’t TOO excited about it. Neither of us are coffee drinkers, but our parents insisted that we register for one so that they can have coffee when we invite them over for dinner! :P
