Introducing Miss Corn!

May 31st, 2007 @ 6:14 pm by Mrs. Bee

We like to introduce new bees in pairs so they’re not lonely. icon_wink3.gif Yesterday it was Miss Eggplant, and today we’re pleased to welcome Miss Corn to the weddingbee team!

Miss Corn, Newport, RI
Age and Occupation: 31 (for another 27 days); HR for public accounting firm
Fiancƒ©’s Age and Occupation: 33; Consultant for public accounting firm
Engagement Date: October 7, 2006
Wedding Date: September, 2007
Venue: North Lawn of Fort Adams State Park
About Me: Mr Corn and I met three years ago where we work in Boston. We dated for 2 1/2 years before getting engaged and buying a house near the city. I am a lazy scrapbooker who loves the instant gratification of making cards and I am very easily distracted by all things shiny. In honor of my childhood nights spent hibachi BBQing on the beach with my family, we are hosting a traditional New England Clambake for our reception.

Welcome to the Beehive, Miss Corn. I’m super excited to read all about your clambake. I’d like to have a clambake when I get married, but my family aren’t really beach-goers type, so that’ll be interesting.

Welcome! Your clambake sounds like such a fun idea. Are you going to be a flip-flop bride? :)

Miss Pumpkin says:

Welcome Miss Corn! I am super excited to hear about your planning - Mr. Pumpkin’s family has a cabin at the beach around here so a beach side wedding/reception was on the table for us too for quite a while. I love all of the cute theme ideas you can do with that setting!

Miss Corn says:

Aw gee, thanks guys!! i am excited too.

I am actually not going to be flip-flop bride, although the thought definitely crossed my mind. As did espedrilles, wedges, sneakers and barefoot. In the end, after a very, very, very long search, I found a pair of strappy sandals with a wide enough heel to not sink in the grass but not so wide that they look like little girl sandals. Although the wedding will be casual, and we have told our guests to dress ‘garden casual, and be prepared to eat messy food’ I am planning on being dressed to the 9’s. :) But more on that later.

Thanks for the fun welcome!!

–Miss Corn

Sarah says:

We are getting no end of grief from the Midwesterners (my side) for not having a clambake at our Cape Cod wedding. I just think about drawn butter dripping down my arms in a wedding gown, and…actually, that sounds pretty good…

23.
Nicole says:

Hooray for New England. I’m a southeastern Mass girl. So excited that you are here!

24.
Miss Corn says:

Ha HA, Sarah!! You made me snort coffee!

We totally thought about the whole butter drippage issue. That’s why we told our guests to come ‘garden casual’ and be prepared to make a mess! Of course, i will be dressed to the 9’s but I just plan on wearing a really. big. bib.
