Final Fitting!

June 4th, 2007 @ 4:26 pm by Mrs. Bell Pepper

I had my final fitting this weekend and I’m quite pleased with how the dress turned out! My dress underwent an extreme metamorphosis over the past few months. This is a photo of the dress when it arrived early January 2007:

No photos area available during my first and second fitting. The first fitting was a nightmare and the second one was a private fitting at my seamstress’ home. The third fitting was amazing, Janette did a great job achieving the look I wanted for my dress.

And the after shot during my fourth fitting. Janette is about to bustle my dress..

Should I go with the gold sash for the ceremony or without? If I don’t wear it during the ceremony, I will most likely wear it for the reception. I really like the dress without the sash but it might look kind of plain. What do you think I should do?

The dress is beautiful!! It’s gorgeous either way but I think the sash is a particularly lovely touch. I would keep the sash on during the ceremony and reception.

No sash… although I think the sash is beautiful. When I first look at that picture of you with the sash, I feel it somehow cuts you off. I think without the sash you look beutiful and elongated. It’s not plain at all, it’s beautiful.

I like the dress without the sash. Does not look plain at all, especially with all the rusching. I think it looks more elegant too.

I say no sash for the ceremony, since you’ll have your bouquet. Then change it up with the sash for the reception!

Very simple and elegant gown, I love the French bustle! I like it without the sash. While it’s definitely a very popular trend, I think it cuts us vertically challenged Asian girls visually.

it looks great without the sash…if you’re worried about it looking too plain, maybe your accessories can complement the dress…

btw, love the dress…i’m still in the hunt for one, would you mind sharing where it’s from?

I’m not particularly fond of sashes, so I vote no sash for the ceremony (but that’s my own bias).

Can I also say that I’m in love with your veil!!

I agree with graciette2, no sash for the ceremony - so it doesn’t compete with your bouquet and then wear the sash for the reception. That way you’ll get the best of both!! Awesome dress either way!!

I love it with the sash. I don’t think it cuts you off, I think it adds color and a unique touch.

Sash, definitely for the ceremony. It’s beautiful and transforms the dress from being just another wedding dress to something really special.

Beautiful, btw.
