Stamp Freak

Like my fellow Weddingbee girls, I wasn’t pleased with the latest stamps that were out when we sent out our 2nd batch of invites. Zazzle had a promotion a few months back and I decided to purchase a bunch of customized stamps with our engagement shots. They look really impressive and they are huge! We’re definitely using them for our thank you cards, too bad we have to add the extra two cent stamps!

Love these!
I ordered our “logo” on our stamps and they were borderline too big for our response cards.. I used them anyway- I got the medium size. Looking back- I should have gotten the small ones.
Very cute though!

They look great. I also took advantage of the zazzle sale and b/c all the stamps were the sampe price I got them both as $.41 first class.

We used two different monograms — one for the invitation and another for the RSVP postcard (see here: http://tinyurl.com/35l6dz). I got them both in small and I’m really glad I did as the RSVP one almost didn’t fit (as you can see it covered up the design on the postcard a little.

Very nice!

I too caved and ordered the stamps from Zazzle…sadly, I ordered our 2 oz stamps BEFORE they offered the $0.58 versus the old $0.63! Didn’t realize that the “small” version is still gigantic! And due to my own stupidity in designing our invitations / reply postcard…I didn’t realize what the USPS classified as a “postcard” versus a “non-machinable” piece of mail.

So, instead of the $0.26 postage originally planned for the RSVP postcard…I now have to stick another $0.58 (YUP, $0.58) for non-machinable card…and i was missing 1/4 of an inch on one side!

Leave and learn…that almost pushed me to the “I don’t really care about this wedding planning bit anymore!”

Oh, Vicki, you reminded me of a former coworker who became a real estate agent, and the very first huge mass mailing she tried to do had postcards about 1/4 too small, too. We’re talking thousands of postcards.

I’ve also been in line at the post office, where to kill time, I volunteer to help the brides who didn’t weigh their invitations add that extra ounce stamp. I definitely learned from those experiences!

I used a pic of us for our Save the Dates, and despite the giant size, they were a huge hit! I’m absolutely doing it for the invites.
