Trashin’ The OC

June 5th, 2007 @ 5:24 pm by Mrs. Lemon

Who wants to trash their dress for free in Laguna Beach on July 29th?!?!

z921087

If you’re ready to be a crazy model for a fun “Trash the Dress” bash, e-mail Nataly Lemus with your name and phone number to express interest in the photo shoot. You can even bring your husband!

Here’s the skinny on the details: you must sign a model release allowing the photos to be posted on their website (as well as the respective photographer’s website), you’ll get a disc with all of the finished images in the mail, and you will also have the option of purchasing prints from a professional lab–and you can’t be camera shy!

They are also having bashes in Atlantic City (July 10th), San Diego (TBD) and more to come! Check out their listings under “Trash Bashes in Your Area” at TrashTheDress.com.

p.s. If you see a tall crazy blonde girl with her mouth hanging open from laughing so hard…. that’d be me :)

Oh my God, was anyone else seriously disturbed by the pictures on that website? The one that shows the bride, dead, stuffed in the trunk of the car really makes me sick.

iris, you have to scroll down a bit, it’s the last two pictures in a series focused on john cooper [the second post down]

Tea, that’s great, like we don’t have enough violence against women desensitized in the media. Sorry for hijacking the comments, just wanted to let Tea know I agreed! What kind of new husband would want to have that smirk on his face in that situation in a picture?!?!

Anyway, good luck to all the lucky ladies who do this!

Ew. The burning bride and drowning bride aren’t much better. I’m all for free speech but this is disturbing.

I have yet to actually have a TTD shoot! Maybe I’ll be at the Trash Bash ;)

As for John Michael Cooper’s photos - he’s who he is, and I’m fairly sure those photos are from Vegas during the Wedding Photographer’s Convention. So they’re obviously going to be to super out of the box thinking. John Michael Cooper is out of the box! :p

Hi Tea, I guess “sarcastic” never comes through in internet-speak hehe :) No, don’t worry, I didn’t think that!

I would love to do this! I think they would be such cool photos to have up in your house! Definitely unexpected. I hope they do a SF Bay Area one. :)

My fiance and I actually did a trash the dress session a few weeks ago for our engagement pics. I bought a secondhand dress (although it was a Maggie Sottero) and we went for just the playful style of pics. We did them in an ally for “urban” styling, as well as more water-based things, such as going bumper boating and jumping into the local river off the dock. My photographer tried to submit them to the http://www.trashthedress.com site, but could not find a way! If anyone here would like to see them, I’d be happy to share. They turned out GREAT!!!

any east coast bees out there interested? this is a big trend lately and I am just starting to do it myself. I don’t like the “burning” “binding” or otherwise disturbing stuff, but I am looking for people to ride the subway, sit around in the middle of the city on park benches, hang out in old new england barns, etc. my first session will [hopefully] be next friday, june 22, in gloucester if anyone is interested…. :) I am open to suggestions too for a playful session.

also: it doesn’t have to be your actual wedding gown. you could thrift it and find something for $50 or less and have a very mod, eclectic photo session to boot!
