Reason #999 To Hire a Videographer

June 7th, 2007 @ 3:53 pm by Mrs. Emerald

*sigh* *tear* *sniff*

Congrats to my lovely friend Amy who just tied the knot in Toronto, Canada!! Check out the site her videographer Still-Motion put together for her! There are two versions, a three minute highlights reel (which is so good, the videographers are entering it in an international competition) and a one minute trailer. Both are so ridiculously stunning, I still can’t get over it. And in true Weddingbee fashion, I had to share! I promise, you won’t be disappointed!

http://www.still-motion.ca

Amy was a gorgeous bride, and the wedding looks uber-glam (reception in a restored theater, their name in lights, full band… feathers!). I can’t wait til she gets her pro-pics so I can feature her wedding! Here are two candids she sent me:

I only had time to watch the trailer, but OMG, it’s gorgeous. We’re not getting a videographer, but now I’m wishing we did. We are using a digital video camera to capture everything so maybe I can find a great editor to bring it all together.

It almost brought tears to my eyes! She is so beautiful.

I loved the music and the pre-wedding and wedding part (real tear-jerker!)

For the reception footage it wasn’t connecting emotionally the same way for me; that same slow dramatic music continued but the images of dancing (e.g., Electric Slide) were so upbeat. For the reception footage, I could imagine the images in fast-foward with really upbeat music.

I agree, I don’t even know this chick and I was near tears! I wish we had the budget for a videographer but sadly we’ll go without.

Great video - must have cost a FORTUNE. I love the idea of it, I love their video. I totally choked up. But honestly, I hate wedding videographers. I have not being to a wedding yet where they weren’t all i the bride and groom’s face the whole time, wearing jeans, chewing gum, etc. Mr. T, who is calm, calm, calm get incensed at them - needless to say none for us. But I certainly can appreciate them after that video.

Hi everyone! Thank you for all the lovely compliments. We had such an amazing day and are so grateful to our videographers for really going out of their way to capture all the great moments. They were not intrustive any more than a photographer would be. It was truly one of our best decisions.

Michelle - my dress is by Justina McCaffrey. It’s called Sanctus. I redesigned the front and changed the bustle but it was a lovely dress to begin with.

Awed - we met in Hong Kong while on a university student exchange. It’s been almost 6 years since we met and everything has just been wonderful since!

Hi Sara, the shoes are by Grazia. I believe they are called Ava. I loved them so much, I wore them all night! I forgot the shoe cushions at the hotel though. However, surprisingly the shoes were fine to wear for 12 hours, but by the 13th when I finally took them off, the balls of my feet were so sore! Still, 12 hours in heels ain’t too bad!

quick question: does anyone know what the title is to the music that is playing during the video?? I LOVED IT!

The longer reel, I have been told is a song from the Pearl Harbour soundtrack. The shorter clip…I think it’s by Hans Zimmer. I’m not certain though.

the music from the shorter clip is from the gladiator soundtrack.

Hi Christine, I have heard this comment so many times (about the cost), I’m almost tempted to break it down for all to see. I spent a lot of time researching a mix of established and up-and-coming vendors, looking for the best value. It did cost more than an average wedding, which seems to be about…correct me if I’m wrong…$28K…but was not astronomical by any means. Our video, for instance, I have been told looks like it cost over $10K…but it wasn’t even close to that.
