I finally finished my inspiration board! Weddingbee inspired me to get going on this project (I have been putting it off for a while)!! Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. -Diana

When I saw the post about the inspiration/mood boards a lightbulb went off in my head. I had already picked out my dress which has intricate bead work (pictured) and knew I wanted an elegant evening wedding. Then FI came to me one day and said he wanted to wear his tartan for his vest and tie. Our tartan is the plaid pictured. I didn’t want to hurt FI’s feelings by not including his idea, but I couldn’t picture plaid together with the elegant evening I had planned.Well the inspiration board pulled everything together. We decided to include both our Scottish and Irish heritage into our wedding. From the ceremony where we will be doing a handfasting ceremony down to the gold coin favors. This inspiration board really made everything come togething in my mind. You have done it again Weddingbee, inspiring brides everywhere! -KatieB

Hi Weddingbee! I love the post on the mood boards, and would love to submit mine. I have been collecting images since I got engaged, and finally found a way to put it all together. My whole wedding was inspired by people. People that in my eyes portray elegance, constrained luxury, and are eternally chic. All qualities that I would like as a bride to portray. They are Audrey Hepburn, Sofia Loren, and the Rat Pack (for my fiance). I also have kept the film “Father Of The Bride” in my mind since we decided to have an at home wedding reception. Although the film’s clothes are a bit outdated the decor is amazing (check out that tent for instance). The color scheme I wanted was classy, feminine, and a little boudoir which is why we chose pink and black. I also wanted a couple of whimsical details that portray us as a couple, which is why I included the cake topper and the polka dots. -Keny

The Mr. and I moved from Washington, DC to Washington State a week after we got engaged. We desperately wanted to include our loves from our nation’s capitol in our wedding planning. So, during our slightly flat drive through South Dakota, we decided to have themed tables based on our favorite spots, including where we met and where we got engaged. In true DC-style, our guest book will be filled with ballot cards that include a “write-in candidate” area for our guests to add their well wishes. We will have a table, dubbed Arlington Cemetery, that has my grandfather’s burial flag and some 4×6 photos of those individuals who could not join us on our wedding day. Some how we had to make the link between Washington, DC and our new home in Washington State, so our reception will be hosted on a three hour Puget Sound cruise. The photos are our inspirations: the red callas (in my bouquet and on the groom), my dress (Maggie Sottero Capri Lynette), the white callas (in the BMs bouquet and on the GMs), the church where we’ll be hitched, our cake (all chocolate!!), the Mr. and I, followed by photos of Washington, DC and Seattle (including the ship that we will cruise on for 3 hours). The final bit of our board is a little “funny” I found on a tee shirt from an online company. I am getting married a little later than 95% of my peers, so in a way, this is a victory for me! Unfortunately I cannot share this with the Mr. because he thinks I wearing a big, black dress to our ceremony. LOL! I hope he’ll be pleasantly surprised. Filled with wedding joy, -Lisa

I’ve been inspired to create one as well. I probably should’ve done this when I first started planning, but now that my wedding is only a weekend away, it was fun to reflect on old pictures that I used to frame my wedding. I just wanted to note that the picture in the middle is of the view from our resort at St. Lucia. As much as I loved planning this wedding and looking forward to all the wedding festivities, I am super-excited about our honeymoon. Other picture featured is our Save the Date magnet, my dress on a model, my shoes, an example of what I would love my tented wedding to look like, our invitation design, our cake design, and the flowers I love…whew, that’s a lot! -Christina
