Favor Cost Breakdown

June 13th, 2007 @ 11:41 am by Mrs. Corn

Below is a cost breakdown of the ornament and salt favors.

I did not include the cost of the paper for the tags because I printed them and cut them from scraps of paper I used for the invitations. I also did not include the cost of supplies for cutting, measuring, etc., because I already owned those items from previous projects. Lastly, I left out shipping costs for the shells and the salt because they vary so much and depending on where you live, you could just go out and buy these items.

**Of the 40lbs of concrete, I used maybe 1/10 of the bag and of the 1 Kilo seashells, I maybe used 1/5 of the bag. I plan on using both the concrete and the shells in the centerpieces and in other area areas of the wedding decor but I could just have easily made more ornaments. Same goes with the salt, I have enough left over to make 10 more favors.

You’re one crafty bride to be!

I’m not such a fan of the ornament, but the salt is awesome. If only more of my friends were into cooking, then I would definitely use that idea.

How many favors did you make with these supplies? I’m curious how the cost works out per person.

Hi BD,

I made 75 ornaments and 45 salt favors for a total of 120.

Anyone who isn’t at the wedding as a couple, will receive the ornament…so I needed more of those. Although I have enough ornament supplies (except for the glass ornaments themselves) to make at least 100 more…I have enough salt to make about 15 more.

mee!!

oriental trading company also has mini shells for a good price…~$4/bag (1lb.) i’m not sure the lb/kilo conversion (i think it’s ~2.25) but that could also be a good option for the shells.
