Pre-marital Gluttony

June 14th, 2007 @ 11:54 am by Mrs. Tomato

The week before my final dress fitting, my meals consist of:

-Fried chicken cutlet
-Fried calamari
-Chicken fingers, fried zucchini
-All you can eat buffet. Granted I could have stayed at the salad bar, but hello! who can suppress the baked goods and sweets?
-Hamburger and fries
-Pizza, pizza and pizza
-Boston Cream Pie
-Cheesecake

Why do I have no self control?! I blame it on Mr.Tomato Pre-marital Gluttony : wedding countdown napa valley Winky07 winky07 (okay okay, I was the one who wanted fried calamari and the Boston Cream Pie…and the cheesecake…).

Thanks to Miss Corn’s recent post, I’m jumping on the Spanx bandwagon. Hopefully my fitting this Friday won’t be completely disastrous! (last time the alterations lady actually poked a little fun at the “pudge” aka my stomach). Pre-marital Gluttony : wedding countdown napa valley Sad02 sad02

First of all, I’ve seen your engagement photos and you are the farthest thing from “pudgy!” They are they to fit the dress to you, not you to the dress. I’m sure you’ll look stunning!

You’re kidding, right? If you’re “pudgy,” then the rest of us are Jabba the Hut!

I am aware from all the other spanx related postings that it comes with a whole in the crotch for convenience hehe…i assume you still have to wear undies??? Am I the only one that notice??

miss tomato — quick funny story (in regards to your icky seamstress comment). i was shopping for wedding shoes in NYC boutiques (before i gave up and bought my shoes on zappos.com as i couldn’t find a size 5 anywhere) and a sales guy at a very upscale store actually suggested i “drink some milk and grow” when he tried to get me to try on the size 6 i insisted would be too big! i’m dead serious!

Hey Flobster, I don’t plan on wearing anything else under my Spanx…not for any Fredrick’s of Hollywood implications, but rather to keep the amount of layering down.

omigod! impending fittings almost seem to MAKE me eat worse!! It’s so weird. My next one is Wednesday and I just ate a calzone for lunch. MMMM…..three pounds of cheese and bread. It was a veggie calzone though so it wasn’t a total nutritional void.

regarding comment #10 from e, at least cheese has a lot of calcium!

My seamstress poked fun at me too…it kinda pissed me off! I was thinking to myself, “And who are you to judge the bride who is trying to loose those last 5 pounds?”

You’re tiny! Don’t let any mean old seamstress get you down. Just make it up by working out.
